1:35 – Ascot Underwriting Chase (Novices’ Limited Handicap, 2m3f)
There’s no want for promising newcomers to the chasing game here – Kid Commando, Solo, Sam Barton and Whatsupwithyou possibly amongst them – but NASSALAM is fancied to take this for Gary and Jamie Moore. He started his hurdles career in spectacular form last season and was placed in Grade 1 company as a juvenile as well. The French import may have plenty more to come in this discipline.

2:10 – Bateaux London Handicap Hurdle (Listed, 1m7½f)
Betfair Hurdle hero Soaring Glory is an eyecatcher on his seasonal comeback for Jonjo O’Neill, while Elham Valley has some good form in the book and could be an each-way option for Fergal O’Brien and Paddy Brennan. AJERO won four on the spin last season before finding an Aintree Grade 1 too warm. Going left-handed there may not have helped either and with trainer Kim Bailey’s team in form, he should go well on return.

2:45 – Byrne Group Handicap Chase (Listed, 2m1f)
Editeur Du Gite had old rival Sully D’oc Aa behind in second at Aintree in the spring and both are respected but FRERO BANBOU was fourth that day and has a decent pull at the weights now. He’s lightly-raced and his French form suggests this stiffer test will suit him well. He’s a good jumper and should relish this test.

3:20 – Bateaux London Gold Cup Handicap Chase (3m)
Top-weight Vinndication won this in 2019 and his record when fresh is excellent. He ended last season going after staying hurdles targets, but could be back on track now. ONE MORE FLEURIE was rapidly progressing in the spring, winning four of his last five over fences and Ian Williams’ charge might still have more to come, despite a 10lb higher mark and this switch to a right-handed track.

3:55 – Stella Artois Novices’ Hurdle (1m7½f)
Peking Rose and Shallwehaveonemore are both exciting newcomers to the jumping game given their bumper exploits. SUPER SIX disappointed at Aintree in the Grade 2 in which Peking Rose was second at the Grand National Festival but Nigel Twiston-Davies has a fitness/experience advantage here having dead-heated at Perth last month on hurdles bow. The pair were a long way clear and It’s Good To Laugh has since dotted up at Hexham. More to come from this promising 4YO under the trainer’s son Sam.

4:30 – Ascot Racecourse Supports Safer Gambling Conditional Jockeys’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle (2m3f)
Go Chique was a winner over further at Southwell in May and could go well for Nicky Henderson if this test proves adequate on return but GRANGECLARE GLORY arrives here on the up after a win at Newton Abbot this month on his seasonal comeback. He should have more in his locker and is fancied to improve on the run.

5:05 – Ascot Round Table Open NH Flat Race (1m7½f)
Not much in the way of form to rely on, but some promising rules newcomers. TAKODA won his only point-to-point by a wide margin in April and the booking of Tom Scudamore is a plus on first start for new connections. His yard is not as fashionable as some, but he could go well at a price. Chianti Classico changed hands for £105,000 after winning his only point in Ireland and is rated amongst the main dangers for a yard in form.
