Erling Haaland could make a return for Manchester City, although probably from the bench, for their match against Fulham. The Cottagers are an impressive 7th in the table but understandably they’ve found things tough against City. Their goal in a 4-1 defeat back in February was their first in this fixture since 2014, eight matches in total but they’ve been pretty potent in front of goal this season and could help towards Over 3.5 this afternoon at 4/6.
Three of the last meetings between Everton and Leicester at Goodison Park have been drawn and only one of the last ten has been decided by more than a single goal. It could be another close encounter. The Foxes’ away form has been poor but they’ve picked up in recent weeks and their 21 goals makes them the sixth-highest scorers in the division, despite being 18th in the table. At 2/1 Leicester could nick this one.
In the Championship league leaders Burnley travel to 3rd placed Sheffield United and it’s a chance for the Clarets to open up a nine-point gap on their promotion rivals. Vincent Kompany has revolutionised things at Burnley post Sean Dyche and is seeing positive results. They’ve started to convert a litany of draws into wins and that’s powered them clear at the top. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see them land the spoils at Bramall Lane in the lunchtime kick-off at 2/1.
At Celtic Park the Hoops will be keen to bounce back from a 5-1 defeat at the Bernabeu in midweek and who better to do it against than Dundee United, whom they thumped 9-0 when the sides met earlier in the season. You can have 50/1 on Celtic hitting another nine (or more!) but realistically the 6/5 on Ange Postecoglou’s men to score four or more should make for a profitable investment.
The topsy-turvy Scottish Championship will no doubt see a few more twists and turns this afternoon. Few would have predicted that Ayr United v Morton would be a top-of-the-table clash at this stage, but here we are.
Dougie Imrie has his Morton side well-organised but they’ll have a tough test at Somerset Park where the goals have been flowing this season. The Honest Men have struck 16 in their seven home matches and are 10/11 to hit two or more for the 11th time (in 14 matches) this season.
