There’s plenty of tasty Cup action in Spain this weekend with the final of the Spanish Super Cup as well as some Copa del Rey games taking place.
There’s also a sole La Liga game in what should be a bumper two days of action.
Real to Prove they are Kings of Spain Again
Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao will contest the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday and Real can prove they are a cut above the rest with a comfortable victory.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side were made to pay for missed chances as Barcelona pegged them back late in the semi-final before they found an extra-time winner but they should be too strong for Bilbao, who came from behind to beat Atletico Madrid on Thursday.
The boys from Madrid can wrap up a comfortable win and are taken at -1 on the handicap at 5/4.
Savvy Sevilla can Win Copa del Rey tie
Sevilla and Real Betis can hardly have expected to be sat second and third in La Liga beyond the halfway point of the season but that is where the two local rivals find themselves ahead of this crunch Copa del Rey match on Saturday night.
Both sides needed extra-time to get past lower league opposition earlier in the competition, with Sevilla beating fourth tier Andratx on penalties and they will need to improve on that showing if they are to get past Betis.
Julen Lopetegui’s side came out on top when the two met in the league earlier in the year and are throwing down the only real creditable challenge to Real Madrid in the league this season.
Betis have struggled in the league recently, taking just one point from their last three games, and Sevilla look well placed to take advantage of their opponents’ troubles at 9/5.
Minnows can get on Scoresheet
The lowest-ranked team left in the Copa del Rey take on Valencia in Sunday’s only game in the competition.
The third-tier Atletico Baleares have beaten two La Liga teams in getting this far, including a 5-0 victory over Getafe, so should not be taken lightly.
The Majorca minnows have never gone beyond this round of the cup and so it would be a massive coup for the club to take victory here.
Both teams to score at 20/29 could be the ideal play with the home side likely to cause Valencia issues.
Villarreal too good for strugglers Elche
Strugglers Elche host Villarreal in the only La Liga game of the weekend and look unlikely to get any joy out of their visitors on Sunday.
Villarreal have won four of their last five league games, a run that includes a 5-2 victory over Alaves and a 5-0 win over Levante.
Elche, on the other hand, have won just four games this season and the 10/13 about Villarreal could look big come the final whistle.
