Leipzig Hoping for Title Challenge
Leipzig started the 2020/21 campaign with a 3-1 victory over Mainz, while this weekend’s opponents, Bayer Leverkusen, were held to a 0-0 draw by Wolfsburg.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side have not lost in their last seven on the road in the Bundesliga, while they have won four in a row on their travels.
Bayer are not invincible at home, losing two of their last four at the BayArena and Leipzig may prove too much for them this weekend.
Leipzig have only lost one of their eight games against Leverkusen in the German top flight and they are 5/4 to win this weekend.
Expect Fireworks in Berlin
The first match in the Bundesliga this weekend takes place on Friday night, with Hertha Berlin playing host to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Hertha started the season with a convincing 4-1 success over Werder Bremen last weekend, while Frankfurt had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld.
Friday’s contest could be too close to call but a lively contest is still expected between two sides that hold European aspirations and over 3.5 goals could be the way to go.
Frankfurt are unbeaten in five top-flight matches, but Hertha’s 4-1 victory cannot go unnoticed as it was their best start to a Bundesliga season since 2013/14.
German Giants Ready to Make Their Point
Both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern are away from home this weekend as they prepare to face Augsburg and Hoffenheim respectively.
Augsburg should be in for a tough afternoon, having won just one of their last ten games against Dortmund. Lucien Favre’s team have scored eight goals in their last two games and should be far too good for their rivals, with a win to nil on offer at 8/5.
An easy afternoon is also predicted for Bayern as they take on Hoffenheim, who conceded six goals at home for the first time in the Bundesliga the last time these two met.
Hansi Flick’s men thrashed Schalke 8-0 last time out and over 3.5 Bayern goals is priced at 27/20.
