Rangers to Get Back on Track

21/08/2020 admin

After a blip against Livingston last time out, Rangers look set to get their title challenge back on track when they host Kilmarnock on Saturday in the Scottish Premiership.

Gers to battle through

Having fallen short in their bid for a long-awaited Scottish Premiership title last season, it was the same story for manager Steven Gerrard last week as Gers were held to a goalless draw Livi.

The Light Blues won’t be taking anything for granted against Killie this weekend as they have not had the best record against the men from Rugby Park.

Killie ran out 2-1 winners in their last meeting in the Premiership back in February and they only suffered two defeats to Rangers in their seven encounters in all competitions last season.

Gerrard will be hoping the rustiness of their performance against Livingston has been brushed off and Rangers are 6/4 to win with a -2 goal FT handicap.

Bhoys to Get Back on Track

Rangers’ arch rivals Celtic are also looking to get back to winning ways this weekend as they also feature on Saturday away at Dundee United.

After a convincing 5-1 win over Hamilton, Neil Lennon’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Kilmarnock at Rugby Park last time out.

Celtic have had time to put things right on the training paddock after their recent break and they should hit the ground running against The Terrors.

United have started the season positively with just one defeat in their first four outings.

However, Mickey Mellon’s side could well be set for their second defeat of the campaign on home soil against the reigning champions.

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard bagged himself a hat-trick in the opening win against Hamilton and he is 12/5 to net the first goal at Tannadice Park this weekend.

Hibs Out to Keep up the Pace

Hibernian have enjoyed a strong start to the season and sit level on points with leaders Rangers ahead of their trip to Perthshire to face St Johnstone.

Just like Rangers and Celtic, Hibs go into this encounter on the back of a frustrating draw after both sides shot blanks in a stalemate against Motherwell.

The Hibees have made positive steps under former Sunderland boss Jack Ross and they will fancy their chances of chalking up another victory this weekend in Perth.

St Johnstone have just one win to their name this season away at Kilmarnock and Saints look like they will have a battle on their hands to maintain their position in the Scottish top flight this season.

Callum Davidson’s side will have to rely mainly on their home form to keep them in mid-table safety but it’s hard to see them pick up any points this weekend.

Hibernian are an attractive price to pick up the three points on the road, with the Edinburgh outfit at 27/20 to secure the win.
