The Randox Health Grand National Steeplechase is a name that even people who only casually follow steeplechasing are likely to recognise. They established the race in 1837, moving it to Aintree in 1839, where it has remained for the last one hundred and eighty-two years.
It is unsurprising, then, that a race with such a long history should have more than a few stories. Legendary horses like Red Rum and trainers like Jenny Pitman will come to mind.
Naturally, another major draw lies in the betting opportunities for the Grand National.

Randox Health Grand National Steeplechase: Tips, Predictions and Previews
The main course, the Randox Grand National itself, with six places being paid for each-way players!
Cloth Cap is a strong favourite and merits that accolade. His form is strong, he should handle all elements of the test and he’s very well handicapped, but at 5/1 he’s not really the sort of price you want in the National.
Behind him – Burrows Saint, Any Second Now and Minella Times are respected – while National form brings in Magic Of Light and Anibale Fly and class means you wouldn’t count Bristol De Mai out despite his top-weight.
ACAPELLA BOURGEOIS defeated his Willie Mullins-trained stablemate Burrows Saint at Fairyhouse in February and is a live outsider at 28/1 here. He’s 7lb better off with the same horse today and was third behind him in the 2019 Irish National. He has to prove his stamina but, if he stays, he’s a big player and rider Danny Mullins has been enjoying a fine time of it lately. Alan King’s Talkischeap is another at a big price and he is very likely to stay the 4m2f journey so he’s worth considering too.
Selection: Acapella Bourgeois @ 28/1
