This week’s Cazoo Premier League Darts comes from the fair city of Dublin in Ireland. It is a neutral territory with none of the eight Premier League players having roots local darts fans can embrace.
The Darts Premier League itself has seen a big division with the top four players pulling clear of those beneath the cut-off point.
Despite five more PL darts nights to be played, it would be a big surprise if Jonny Clayton, Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and James Wade were not to appear in the semi-finals slated to take place in Berlin on June 13.
A big week for those in the bottom half of the table in Dublin…

Ignore Smith/Anderson, Play MVG by a Mighty Margin
Apart from the £10,000 prize for winning a nightly final, Michael Smith and Gary Anderson have little to play for. They are, after all, 6/1 and 12/1 respectively to reach the semi-finals. This makes their face-off on Thursday night a match fraught with danger and one to avoid from a betting perspective.
But the other three darts matches offer some great opportunities. Michael van Gerwen (MVG) and James Wade get the evening underway. And it could be a quick kill. MVG has won 15 of the 23 games he has played. Of his eight defeats, four were by the minimum 5-6 verdict.
It means MVG has won 41 more legs than he has lost during the competition. Wade has won 101 and lost 101. These stats suggest class will prevail and MVG, who has already won three Premier League fixtures, will stamp out the left-hander in double-quick time.
Suggested Bets:
Van Gerwen to beat James Wade 6-3 at 6/1 at Betfair Sportsbook
Van Gerwen to beat James Wade 6-4 at 19/4 at 888sport
6/4 an Amazing Price about Cullen
Gerywn Price and Joe Cullen have a mathematical chance of making the semi-final stages and one will progress to the semi-finals on Thursday as they meet in a first-round game.
Price has won just one of his last six Premier League matches and looks way below his best. No player has recorded fewer 180s during the competition than him.
As Cullen won on night-7 in Rotterdam and was a finalist in Manchester two weeks ago, he is the obvious choice. And he gets our five-star nap treatment as he is a mouth-watering 6/4 shot in the conventional win market.
Suggested Bet:
Joe Cullen to beat Gerwyn Price at 6/4 at William Hill
Jonny to Go the Distance with Wright
The match of the night could be Jonny Clayton against Peter Wright. They sit first and third in the league standings and they served up a 6-5 thriller when they met in last week’s semi-final.
A month ago, in Birmingham, the score-line was 6-4 in a match that saw both players average over 100. For some reason, this pair seem to bring the best out of one another and that should mean another close game.
Suggested Bet:
Peter Wright v Jonny Clayton – Over 9.5 Legs at bet365*
