The Premier League action continues thick and fast on Wednesday with no less than four games taking place, and there are plenty of incentives on offer with teams fighting to keep their top-flight status and finish in the European places.
There are three games taking place at 18:00 and the first of those we delve into is the clash at the Vitality Stadium, where relegation-threatened Bournemouth take on Newcastle United.
Cherries Hoping to Down Bruce’s boys
Eddie Howe’s men occupy 18th position heading into the contest but they are only behind 17th-place West Ham United on goal difference, while Watford, in 16th, are only a point better off than the south coast outfit.
The Cherries have lost both of their matches since the restart, failing to score and conceding three times, but they may be able to take advantage of a Newcastle side that Steve Bruce revealed will be freshened up.
The Magpies’ FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester City on Sunday was their third game in a week and with talisman Allan Saint-Maximin expected to be rested, Bournemouth may fancy their chances of a win at 7/5
*.
More Misery for Norwich
Also at 18:00, Arsenal welcome rock-bottom Norwich City to the Emirates Stadium as both sides go in search of all three points for very different reasons.
The Gunners sit 10th in the standings, nine points adrift of Manchester United in fifth, and Mikel Arteta’s men need to start racking up the wins if they are going to finish in a European place.
As for Norwich, they have lost their last four games in all competitions – the latest of those a quarter-final defeat to the Red Devils on Saturday – and the Canaries are six points from safety with just seven matches remaining.
Leicester Set for Tough Merseyside Trip
The final 18:00 kick-off takes place at Goodison Park as European hopefuls Everton go up against Leicester, who are sitting in third position but need to start picking up points with teams below catching them up.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are 11 points adrift of United in fifth but they are unbeaten since the restart, drawing with Liverpool before beating Norwich, and they could be worth a punt at 8/5
to overcome the Foxes, who are on a three-games winless run.
Chelsea to Increase West Ham’s Relegation Fears
The final match on Wednesday gets started at 20:15 as West Ham, who are in real danger of being relegated, welcome in-form Chelsea to the London Stadium.
The Hammers have lost their last three games, conceding five goals and failing to register themselves, and they could find themselves in the bottom three before they take to the field.
With Man Utd beating Brighton on Tuesday night, fourth-place Chelsea are only two points clear of the Red Devils, but the Blues are in tremendous form at the moment, winning their last five matches in all competitions.
Frank Lampard’s men could also leapfrog Leicester into third if the Foxes falter against Everton, and Chelsea look the solid bet at 8/15
to overcome West Ham tonight.
