A full programme of Scottish Premiership fixtures is due to take place on Boxing Day with Rangers seeking to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has settled into the role of manager nicely, winning all of his top-flight matches in charge.
The champions have 48 points after 19 games, six points clear of Celtic who have slowly improved after a very dodgy start to the season.
Hearts are the best of the rest, nine points adrift of Celtic while at the bottom of the table, St Johnstone are on a terrible run of form with six straight losses.
Dundee are their closest rivals in terms of a relegation scrap, two points above.
Easy Win Expected for Rangers
The Gers’ Boxing Day assignment is a home match against St Mirren, who are ninth in the table without a win in ten.
They have grabbed plenty of draws in recent matches but have been unable to put teams to the sword, though they did gain a creditable goalless draw against Celtic last time out.
However, a trip to Ibrox should prove a step too far with Rangers currently on a run of eight successive victories.
The Gers have remained unbeaten at home this season and are starting to go through the gears in terms of goalscoring, grabbing 22 in their last eight.
They can be backed to win 3-0 at 59/20.
Celtic to Pile Misery on St Johnstone
Aside from Rangers’ unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership, the big success story of last season were St Johnstone, who won both domestic cups.
Callum Davidson was rightly lauded for the achievement but they have struggled to kick on after a short-lived European adventure, losing to Austrian outfit LASK Linz in the Europa Conference League play off.
They have lost each of their last six games and are in danger of losing their Scottish Premiership status they have held since 2009.
Celtic are expected to pile more pressure on them, with Ange Postecoglou’s men chasing down Rangers at the top.
Even though their three league defeats this season have come away from home, the Bhoys should be far too strong for the out-of-form Saints and can be backed to win to nil at 10/11.
Hearts to Edge Past Ross County
Hearts have had a wonderful return to the Scottish Premiership and are the best of the rest behind the Old Firm duo.
Robbie Neilson’s men are five points above Motherwell in fourth though they have alternated between winning and losing in each of their last eight matches.
Games involving Hearst haven’t had many goals recently – their last six have each produced under 2.5.
Ross County had an awful start to the season but Malky Mackay has guided them to four wins from their last nine matches.
However, Hearts’ solid record will be enough to see them win and a 1-0 win is priced at 9/2.
