This week we are going to take a deeper look at three underrated games that could end up being great matchups. Or maybe they take a different turn and end up being horrible blowouts. It’s ‘Any Given Sunday’ after all!
Los Angeles Rams @ New York Giants
I was pretty disappointed by the New York Giants last weekend, though a lot of that isn’t their fault. They were hammered by injuries the last two weeks. Those injuries are expected to carry over into this game. Players like Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard are all listed on the injury report ahead of their date with the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams just knocked off the Seattle Seahawks, though they had some help with the injury to Russell Wilson. Still, they are 4-1 on the year and look like one of the best teams in the league, while the Giants are the complete opposite at 1-4. I think that predicting Matthew Stafford and this Rams team to crush the Giants is a great bet to make. The Giants usually always fight till the last second but with so many injuries they just won’t be able to keep up. Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey will make sure their offense doesn’t put up nearly as many points as Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods will be able to.
Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans
I honestly don’t know how to feel about the Tennessee Titans right now. Yes, they put up monster points against their division rivals last weekend, but it was the Jacksonville Jaguars. A team that is 0-5 on the year with so many problems off the field, and the game was really close in the first half. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills absolutely stomped the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, a statement victory without a doubt. Buffalo has romped two teams for a combined score of 75-0 already and now with a win over a team that is considered to be the leaders of the AFC, this team is for real. Tennessee has a lot of weapons to give them a chance in this game but if the Chiefs couldn’t beat them while they were missing Matt Milano, then I don’t see them winning this game. I imagine Josh Allen totalling at least three touchdowns in this matchup, something that I am more than confident to bet on. For a smaller, riskier type of bet, you could bet that Derrick Henry will break the 100-yard rushing mark. Though he won’t get near it if it turns into a blowout quickly.
Minnesota Vikings @ Carolina Panthers
These two teams are wildly unpredictable. Minnesota almost chokes a game they should have dominated against the Detroit Lions then the Panthers actually choke a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Neither of these teams are consistent enough to bet to win, but you can surely expect this to be low scoring. The Vikings have already had a couple of games in which they didn’t score over 20 points and the same goes for Carolina. While these two groups have an insane amount of offensive talent at their disposal, their defenses usually end up making it low scoring. Whatever the over/under is currently set at for this game, I would recommend hitting the under. I just have that feeling it is going to be a 21-20 type performance.
