Usually, the games that you expect to be bad end up being super exciting. Often times people get one glimpse at two opponents records and immediately think that the game will be low scoring and full of mistakes. This game may look like one of those games on paper, but I have a feeling it is going to be one of the better games of Week 6. Let’s take a look and see where these teams stand ahead of their upcoming showdown in London.
The Miami Dolphins were in fact thrashed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, and the Buffalo Bills a couple of weeks ago, and the Indianapolis Colts before that, but they still have talent on their roster. Tua Tagovailoa is unlikely to make an appearance in this game due to his rib injury, and Jacoby Brissett could be suffering from a similar fate. He exited his last game due to an injury, but it didn’t appear to be that serious. Regardless, his health could be in question for this matchup and a third string quarterback will certainly spice up their offense a bit. After all, they have seemingly abandoned the run game and are just avoiding giving the ball to their star playmakers.
Defensively, they regressed massively compared to 2020. I don’t really know what their biggest issue is as they still have good players on that side of the ball. They are simply not getting the job done and the chemistry must not be what it used to be. They will have their hands full with Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars though.
Jags Have Shown Flashes
Jacksonville may be winless on the year but that doesn’t take away from how well they’ve played in the first half of every game. They have flashed potential to be a team on the rise, but it just isn’t fully shining through. Lawrence has had a lot more success in recent weeks because the team is choosing to establish a run game first to ease some pressure. James Robinson has had two 100-yard rushing games now with touchdowns in each of them. Him and Lawrence are carrying this team on their back right now. If either of them has bad games, it results in their defense allowing 40 points and another loss to their record. Robinson and Lawrence have to carry this offense and put up a good number of points even if the Dolphins are running with a third string quarterback under centre.
One thing you can be sure of, is that the Dolphins won’t stick with the run game. They have been slowly getting rid of it and that won’t stop here. Especially if they end up falling behind early on in the contest. I would also bet that Robinson eclipses that 100-yard mark once again. He is just too talented in a game where the Jaguars should be close throughout to not have a big statistical performance.
Watch: on Sky Sports from 1:30pm (UK time) with the game kicking off at 2:30pm.
