MONDAY was a quiet day but there were plenty of winners including Greg with his goals tips on Lommel.
They’re his favourite team for now – apart from St Johnstone – and the Belgian reserves came up trumps as usual.
I fancied Napoli at Sampdoria but they were a little short so it was a no-bet day for me.
Tuesday’s a bit busier with five FA Cup replays including Liverpool v Shrewsbury and Oxford v Newcastle.
As always team news will be vital for all of the games but we already know Liverpool are fielding their Under-23s with the first team on a break and the line-up will be similar to the one that lost 5-0 at Aston Villa in the EFL Cup.
Liverpool will still have plenty of quality on show while Shrewsbury, with 5000 fans at Anfield, will give it a go again. Best bet here could be goals.
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce fielded a full-strength side at home but even then Oxford were the better team. Since then Karl Robinson’s side have sold Shandon Baptiste and Tarique Fosu to Brentford while top scorer James Henry is injured as are midfielders Anthony Forde and Ben Woodburn.
Newcastle new loan signings Danny Rose and Valentino Lazaro are ineligible while Dwight Gayle, Andy Carroll, Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems are out.
Bruce’s boys are shade of odds against and that looks value if he plays his strongest available side.
Derby’s home form is superb and they should take care of Northampton at the second attempt. Birmingham v Coventry – between the two St Andrews sides – and Cardiff v Reading, with the sides drawing twice in the past week, could go either way.
Elsewhere there are English non-league games and cup matches in Spain, Germany and Portugal as well as Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 encounters so plenty to look at.
I’ll post tips after studying form and stats in the RFO.
