NO Premier League games and a restricted Championship card means the fixtures are tougher than usual.
There are four FA Cup ties today with Man City out to keep alive their quadruple hopes with a big win at League Two Newport.
Pep Guardiola’s preaching caution pre-match and saying Newport are bigger and stronger and will test them. In reality the gulf in class is massive and it will be one of the biggest shocks in history if the League Two side lose. Not expecting a Burton-esgue rout but the champions should cover the -2 handicap.
I’ve posted Scottish and English previews where most of my selections are covered. Team news is vital with the FA Cup and also in other games such as Rangers v St Johnstone with Steven Gerrard concerned he may have no available strikers with Alfredo Morelos banned and Jermain Defoe and Kyle Lafferty doubts.
From the Super Single shortlist I’ve picked Forfar for the second week running. I don’t do that often but they’re on a great run and again look big at just under 2-1 away to Montrose.
On Friday there were plenty of goals and I was relieved to land a 37-10 goals treble but the Top Treble was beaten by Sunderland. They’re definitely off my list for now and too many draws could cost them automatic promotion. Unbeaten at home still but they’ve gathered 10 points fewer than Luton in front of their own fans.
Well done to all the winners on Friday including HullShaker, craneguy and elvis parsley and top marks to maccathered with his Cristiano Ronaldo team news – he must have in to the Juventus dressing room. Goals were on the menu in France Ligue 2 again but Greg’s 22-1 on all games over 1.5 was one short and he was denied a late striker at QPR by one of the misses of the season.
Good luck to everyone with all of their bets on Saturday and as always be careful with your stakes.
