THAT’S a frenetic Easter period over and although Monday wasn’t a cracker the holiday weekend over was eggscellent.
My winning run ended with two trebles being a goal out and my moneyback longshot was a 0.5pts loser.
I thought Derby were going to save the day but Norwich couldn’t find a winner at Stoke and they’ll be less bothered by that after Leeds’ shocking loss at Brentford – and it could have been much worse than 2-0.
Derby’s late show provided a winner on the members bet for Scott and Desmond made it three teams to score 2+ doubles up in the four days thanks to Derby and Bury.
Well done to all the winners on a day when there were always going to be some funny results after such a busy period.
There are just five games in the UK on Tuesday and I’ve picked out a treble that pays 2-1.
Spurs have seen Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United all slip up in recent days in the fight for the top four and must beat fourth-bottom battlers Brighton at home to move three clear in third.
The Londoners are beginning to feel the pace after reaching the Champions League semis and continue to be without Harry Kane. They are just 4-11 at Unibet to win but best bet could be Heung-Min Son to score.
The South Korean’s netted four in five to take his tally to 21 and is 6-5 at sportingbet to net again.
Kevinmac has posted a detailed Spurs vs Brighton preview and fancies Spurs to win to nil against a side that hasn’t scored in six.
In League Luton can all but clinch promotion and move to within a whisker of the title by beating relegation-haunted Wimbledon at home. Stanley aren’t safe yet but the Hatters, one defeat in 30, can twist the knife and are 1-2 with most bookies. Play-off contenders Doncaster should also win at home to lowly Accrington.
To Spurs and Luton here comes the tricky part – Partick Thistle not to lose at Ayr.
The Jags finished top six in the Premiership two years ago and are in danger of back-to-back relegations.
That would be some fall from grace though and there is light at the end of the tunnel though for Gary Caldwell’s men who dragged themselves off the foot with a comeback win against Alloa at the weekend.
Any of the bottom five sides can be relegated but Falkirk are 10-11 favourites at McBookie after losing at home to Morton and Thistle can climb five points above them by winning tonight”s game in hand against Ayr. They and Alloa are 5-2 for automatic relegation.
Ayr have clinched a promotion play-off spot and I’m not sure they care too much about whether they finish third or fourth – so Ian McCall could protect his key men ahead of key games.
Tonight’s game means so much more to the Jags and while I’m tempted at 2-1 with Marathonbet a safer option is the Jags draw no bet at 23-20 with McBookie or not to lose at 7-10 with Marathonbet.
If you fancy a scorer look no further than ex-Celt Scott McDonald who has been superb since being tempted out of retirement with six goals in 11 games – any league game he’s netted in Thistle haven’t lost. The Aussie is 15-8 at McBookie to score.
Goals looks the way to go at Watford v Southampton and elsewhere there are three games in La Liga and Greg’s favourite French Ligue 2 as well as Dutch top-tier matches.
For a Super Single I’m looking at the Hamburg v RB Leipzig German Cup Final. The difference it these sides’ form couldn’t be more contrasting and while Leipzig can go on accas at 1-2 I’m willing to take a chance on Leipzig -1 at 6-4 with Ladbrokes.
They’ll be in the Champions League next season after a superb run of six wins and they’ve triumphed in their last eight away games – one after extra time.
Hamburg, meanwhile, are in danger of missing out on a return to the Bundesliga at the first attempt after a run of five games without a win. They’ve fallen six behind leaders Cologne in the title chase and are one ahead of Paderborn and two clear of Union Berlin in the fight for one more automatic promotion spot.
While a cup is great they must be concerned about league form and surely their focus is on securing promotion. Leipzig have a 100 per cent record at Hamburg and have never conceded.
