SPURS look to have hit a wall with three successive defeats and it could be No.4 on Tuesday night.
A thrilling Champions League semi-final first leg is in prospect and I’m backing Ajax to get a positive result – win or draw – on the way to reaching the Final.
The Dutch have dazzled in the knockout stages with stunning away wins at Real Madrid and Juventus and are unbeaten on the road in the Champions League including visits to Munich and Lisbon in the group stage.
It could be a good time to face Spurs who looked jaded on Saturday and have problems up front. Harry Kane is still injured and Heung-Min Son’s ban is a hammer blow so Mauricio Pochettino will go with Lucas Moura or Fernando Llorente – or possibly play a false No.9.
Ajax, well rested after being given the weekend off, are 19-10 at bet365 to win and 11-13 at sportingbet to reach the Final.
Spurs are 8-5 with Betfred to triumph at their new home and 11-10 at sportingbet to make the Final for a possible all-English meeting with Liverpool.
Both teams to score pays 4-6 at Ladbrokes but Spurs have netted just once in three games since knocking out Man City.
As Ajax are underdogs for acca purposes you can have them not to lose at 4-7 at McBookie or draw no bet at 23-20 with Marathonbet.
Dusan Tadic has been immense and the ex-Southampton, who takes a mean pen, is 23-10 at unibet to add to his 32 goals this season and 6-1 at Betfred to net first.
Elsewhere there are five games in England with two big ones in League One – Fleetwood v Sunderland and Portsmouth v Peterborough. Portsmouth need a win to have any chance of catching Luton or Barnsley in the race for automatic promotion.
Sunderland look set for the play-offs as they are six points off the top two with an inferior goal difference so need a big victory.
In the Championship Bristol City must win at Millwall, who are now safe from the drop, to keep alive their slim play-off hopes.
Bury need a win at Tranmere to clinch promotion from League Two but if the home men succeed they’ll have a chance of finishing second or third so this could be a fascinating battle.
I’ll take a close look at all the games in the morning and post at least one tip in the afternoon. It’s the final day of the month so I’m looking to finish at least 40 points up – and try to it again in May.
Monday’s treble was a Betis goal short on a quiet night but well done to all the winners.
