SATURDAY was all about the Champions League Final and Liverpool deservedly picked up the trophy.
They were better than Spurs on the night and it would have been harsh on them to finish with nothing after a stellar season.
Mo Salah’s early strike should have led to a thriller but instead it seemed to strangle the life out of Spurs and it took a long time for them to get going.
Before the game the concensus was for a Liverpool win and goals but I never felt a Spurs goal was coming.
Well done to all the winners and there were plenty including HullShaker with great calls on corners in the Final. SlipsTips and Scott both tipped Liverpool and over 1.5 goals and among my tips I had Liverpool to win, Salah to score and penalty to be awarded.
Also well done to Greg for his Austrian goals tips – I had Wattens and Ried on a moneyback fivefold and they both won well as Wattens clinched the title.
Liverpool were also in there but Gothenburg were losers so I need Auchinleck to win for the 1pt stake back. My Super Single was Liverpool and both to score so a 1pt loser.
Auchinleck face Largs in the Scottish Junior Cup Final and I’ve posted a separate preview.
On Sunday there are lower-league play-offs, international friendlies and games from Scandinavia. I’ll put up some tips around lunchtime.
