IT was a day of no bets for me on Bank Holiday Monday – and not really a holiday either as papers are produced every day bar one.
Luckily we have plenty of contributors to the site who spotted a bonanza, led by Greg and HullShaker, and well done to all the winners on the Scottish Reserves and English National League.
The only bet I fancied was Inter but they were too short and I decided to leave Romelu Lukaku bets alone for now. Those who did Inter to win and Lukaku to score called it correctly and it was an extremely one-sided game with promoted Lecce looking out of their depth.
Tuesday’s much busier with three Champions League qualifiers, tricky EFL Cup ties and the dreaded EFL Trophy as well as foreign games such as winless Montpellier against a Lyon side that’s started with two big wins in Ligue 1.
Team news is vital for the EFL Cup games as most sides will be weakened, with many making 10 or 11 changes, and for me the EFL Trophy is a no-no.
In the Champions League Krasnodar kick off 4-0 down to Olympiacos so that’s all over. There should be plenty of goals as Red Star entertain Young Boys after a 2-2 draw while Rosenborg need a minor miracle as they trail Dinamo Zagreb 2-0.
I’ll be looking mainly at goals bet and btts at Red Star is likely to feature in the treble I post around lunchtime.
