CELTIC are on a revenge mission today against a Livingston side who handed them their only defeat of the season.
That 2-0 loss in West Lothian was a shocker for Neil Lennon’s men but back at Parkhead it should be a different story.
Celtic have a 100 per cent home record and have won 23-2 on aggregate.
Short prices were a theme of the Euro 2020 qualifiers and Celtic are no bigger than 1-6 to pick up the points.
Livi don’t make it easy for opponents but if they’re on their game the home men should be able to cover the -2 handicap at 6-5 with boylesports.
Energy levels could be a problem though with the bulk of first-teamers returning from international double headers – the likes of Odsonne Edouard, James Forrest, Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic.
Lennon may freshen up his starting XI but after again scoring for France Under-21s Edouard looks a good shout to break the deadlock at 3-1 with McBookie.
Rangers head to Hamilton tomorrow lunchtime aiming to keep pace with the champions.
Despite the plastic pitch Accies have been a happy-hunting ground for the Ibrox men with 18 goals in their last four visits – and Rangers won 5-0 at home this season.
Again players have been away including Alfredo Morelos who played twice for Colombia in the USA.
There is a chance Jermain Defoe could start if Steven Gerrard decides he needs a break and if that’s the case back the Englishman to score first at 14-5 with Unibet.
Again Rangers are no bigger than 1-6 but going by stats it’s all about goals when these sides meet. Four of the last five at Foys Stadium have gone over 4.5 goals while four out of five have seen both score.
So bets to look at include Rangers & both to score at 2-1 with Ladbrokes and over 3.5 match goals at 6-5 at Paddy Power.
Elsewhere in the Premiership Hibs will be hoping to get a bounce from the appointment of Jack Ross as boss.
Hibs are 27-20 with Unibet at home to Motherwell but best bet could be goals with four out of five bringing up btts. That pays 4-5 at William Hill.
Managerless Hearts beat St Mirren 5-2 before the break with Austin MacPhee in caretaker charge and I tipped Steven Naismith to score first on his comeback from injury.
Naisy followed up with a goal for Scotland against Kazakhstan on Tuesday and is 13-5 with bet365 to net at anytime at Kilmarnock.
This one could finish all square as could the battle between St Mirren and Ross County.
Tomorrow I like Aberdeen’s chances at 13-10 with Marathonbet at a St Johnstone side hammered 4-1 at home to Hibs last time out.
The only game in the lower leagues is Inverness v a Dundee side whose three-game winning run was ended by neighbours Dundee United.
Inverness have failed to score in three and this looks to be another low scorer. Could be a draw but I’m taking Dundee draw no bet at 6-5 with Betfred.
There are some interesting Scottish Cup ties including Auchinleck v Arbroath, Montrose v Bonnyrigg and Morton v Brora.
Talbot once again will be looking to be giantkillers and I wouldn’t back against the junior big guns. They are a biggest 4-1 at William Hill.
Montrose and Morton should win at fair prices of 1-2 and for a 2-1 cup treble add QoS at Queen’s Park or Dunfermline at Stranraer.
Dumbarton look slightly overpriced at 23-20 with Paddy Power at home to League One rivals Forfar who they beat 3-1 at The Rock last month. Forfar have won just once in 13 and are dropping like a stone.
Recommended Bets
- Celtic -2 (6-5, boylesports)
- Hamilton v Rangers over 3.5 goals (6-5, Paddy Power)
- Hibs v Motherwell btts (4-5, William Hill)
- Naismith (Hearts) to score (13-5, bet365)
- Aberdeen (13-10, Marathonbet)
- Dundee draw no bet (6-5, Betfred)
- Auchinleck Talbot (4-1, William Hill)
- Dumbarton (23-20, Paddy Power)
