CELTIC have beaten Rangers at Ibrox and Hampden this season and look set to complete the hat-trick on home soil.
The Hoops have a chance to move eight points clear of their rivals on Sunday and that would be significant as they chase nine in a row.
Neil Lennon’s men are a best 11-10 at Ladbrokes with Rangers 13-5 at bet365 and the draw the same price with betfair.
Rangers didn’t turn up in the Old Firm opener when they lost 2-0 at home but did so in the Betfred Cup Final when they crashed 1-0.
Steven Gerrard will wonder what his side have to do to beat the Hoops and Alfredo Morelos will be the same when it comes to scoring in the derby. The Colombian missed many chances – including a penalty – to break his duck and that’s 13 games against Celtic without a goal.
Against everyone else he’s been fine so he’s likely to be giving it another go but I don’t think he’ll be taking a penalty if one is awarded.
Morelos, rested against Killie on Thursday before coming off the bench to hit the winner, is 6-1 at bet365 to net first and 21-10 with Unibet to score at anytime.
Odsonne Edouard doesn’t have any problem hitting the target against Rangers – and in fact seems to thrive on bigger games.
He looks the best bet to break the deadlock at 19-4 with Unibet and is 13-8 at Betway to score.
A sending off in the match for the second time in a row pays 9-4 with McBookie.
Elsewhere in the Premiership on Sunday Hearts entertain Aberdeen having lost new boss Daniel Stendel’s first four matches.
I’d back the Dons with confidence if Sam Cosgrove wasn’t injured but they should still win at 31-20 with Ladbrokes against a rock-bottom side who can’t buy a goal.
Since losing to Celtic, Motherwell are unbeaten in six and should win the Lanarkshire derby at home to Hamilton after coming back from the dead to win at Ross County. They are a best 8-15 with Ladbrokes.
St Johnstone have picked up two 1-0 wins and two 0-0 draws in their last four and are 9-4 with Sky Bet to win to nil when County visit.
The Championship title race is almost done with Dundee United so far ahead at the top but the fight for second is fierce with Inverness leading the way today.
John Robertson’s side have won four out of five away with their only blip being a defeat at Partick Thistle. They are 4-6 to beat Arbroath at home and 15-8 to win to nil.
In League One just a single point separates the top four and the clubs meet in two fixtures today.
Best bet for Airdrie v Falkirk should be both to score at 8-11 with Sky Bet while I like East Fife draw no bet at 19-20 with BetVictor at home to Raith.
Dumbarton bust many a coupon when they won at leaders Raith last week and look nicely priced at 4-5 with Marathonbet at home to bottom-of-the-table Stranraer.
Cove and Edinburgh are running away with it in League Two and both should notch homes today against Elgin and Cowdenbeath respectively with the double paying 7-4 at Marathonbet.
For goals Annan v Queen’s Park and Brechin v Albion Rovers look the best bets.
Recommended Bets
- Celtic
- Edouard to score
- Aberdeen
- St Johnstone win to nil
- Motherwell
- Inverness win to nil
- Dumbarton
- Cove/Annan double
