IT’S so far so good for Celtic but they’re only halfway to the Champions League group stage.
If they see off Cluj it will be a fight to the finish against Slavia Prague for Neil Lennon’s men.
Cluj are a big step up from Nomme Kalju who were swatted aside 7-0 but I’m backing the Hoops to qualify.
They are though short-priced favourites at 2-5 with the Romanian champs a best 12-5 with bet365.
That’s rating Celtic six times better than Dan Petruscu’s side and the gap isn’t as big as that.
Cluj did well to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-2 in the previous round and have taken 10 out of 12 points domestically.
They can’t be under-rated and I reckon Lenny will happily take a draw back to Parkhead to finish the job.
Celtic are a best 17-10 at BetVictor to win with Cluj 2-1 at McBookie who make the draw 21-10. Lennon’s side have hit 14 in three games and a scoring one at 15-4 with McBookie.
The manager would have been delighted to see Ryan Christie, Mikey Johnston, Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths net in Saturday’s 7-0 rout of St Johnstone even if it maybe wasn’t the test he wanted ahead of a tough European tie.
Last season Edouard was relied on too much but now Christie is the main man and after his weekend hat-trick I’m on him to net again at 7-2 with Coral. To net first the midfielder is 15-2 at Sky Bet.
Celtic to score at 2-5 with BetVictor and Ladbrokes is worth taking on an acca with Basel, who knocked out PSV at home to LASK and in the Europa League Slovan Bratislava to beat Dundalk.
