WE’VE reached the third batch of Betfred Cup games and there have been highs and lows for punters.
Results have been mixed with plenty of shocks along the way and the matches still have a friendly feel to it.
Some clubs have fared better than other and looking at today’s prices the best value is possibly with Ayr.

When Ayr lost last season’s top scorer Lawrence Shankland to Dundee United there were fears they’d struggle to replace his goals.

There aren’t many others who tempt at odds against although Montrose will interest some at 17-10 with bet365 at home to Forfar.
Montrose produced a major shock when they beat St Johnstone in midweek and by all accounts the Perth men were dire.
Tommy Wright’s short of bodies and Premiership new arrivals Ross County could be worth a look when they visit McDiarmid tomorrow. County, with six points of six, are looking good to top their group and shouldn’t lose here. On the double chance they are 10-11 at bet365.
At shorter prices back Hibs to beat Alloa at home after slipping up at Stirling where they won on penalties after a 1-1 draw. They are 7-10 at Betfred.
I also like Inverness at 3-5 with Marathonbet to beat a Raith side who were hammered 3-0 by Dundee in their opener. ICT, one of the Championship title favourites, were held 0-0 by Peterhead after losing 3-0 to Dundee Utd so need a lift.
Complete a 17-10 Top Treble with Stranraer at home to a Berwick side who could be the worst in the competition.
Berwick, now a Lowland League outfit, have had a disastrous run of results going back to the end of last season. They were relegated after losing 7-0 on aggregate to Cove and in fact their aggregate last-six results have been 0-24.
St Mirren have made a stuttering start with defeat to Dunfermline then a late penalty giving them a 1-0 home win over Edinburgh City.
The Buddies are ripe to be upset at Lowland League East Kilbride who have made some ambitious signings. EK are 9-1 at BetVictor to cause a big shock but best bet could be both to score at evens with Sky Bet.
Add over 3.5 goals at Hibs v Alloa for a double that could burst the net and hopefully not the bank.
