The Caddy was back on the winners podium last night in the DP World Tour.
Sweden’s Vincent Norrman claimed a one shot victory with a fantastic final round in the Irish Open. He forced his way in to contention then had to watch as the chasing pack all faltered.
Norman was picked out by The Caddy earlier in the week at 45/1, a great shout on the Swede who now enters the World’s Top 100.
The Caddy will be back this week with more DP World Tour tips for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and of course if you want to follow more tips from one of the best golf tipsters out there then you can join his private Telegram channel here.
Pressure is mounting on Wales manager Rob Page who has guided his side to just one win their last 13 outings – a 1-0 win over tonight’s opponents, Latvia. With just four points from four matches the Dragons’ qualification chances are hanging in the balance and a win in Latvia is a must in Riga.
The good news for Page is that the Latvians are in just as ropey form. They’re winless in eight and have come up short against higher-ranked opposition in Group D, suffering four defeats in four.
However, they thought they’d nicked a point at home to Turkey by equalising in the 94th minute but conceded a minute later to lose all three points. It was another late goal that denied them a point in Armenia when they conceded a 91st minute penalty so the away win might not be as cut and dried as the 1/2 odds suggest.
Any kind of win will do for Wales and we can cover a few bases by backing Latvia +1.0 on the Asian Handicap at even money (2.000). Only a Welsh win by more than one goal would see us lose out, with a win goal win giving us our money back.
It feels like a long time ago since Iceland were rubbing shoulders with the best in the world at major tournaments. Since the start of the decade they’ve won just nine matches (versus Canada, El Salvador, Liechtenstein x2, Faroe Islands, San Marino and Venezuela) and look like a nation in decline on the football pitch.
Tonight they host Bosnia and Herzegovina, for whom the likes of Edin Džeko and Miralem Pjanić might have seen better days, but who still have quality amid their ranks.
They slipped to a surprise 2-0 defeat to Luxembourg during the last international break but after an impressive Nations League campaign in which they topped a group that included Finland, Montenego and Romania, Meho Kodro’s men will be confident of a repeat win over Iceland whom they beat 3-0 earlier in the campaign.
