SPURS were almost the big winners on Sunday but a late headed equaliser by Romain Saïss meant they only climbed to fifth instead of third in the table.
It was a day of missed opportunity for Liverpool too who squandered the chance to open up a five point gap at the top of the table as the ‘Fireman Sam’ effect kicked in for West Brom and Sam Allardyce, who extended his personal run to four games unbeaten at Anfield thanks to a battling 1-1 draw.

Monday’s Football Tips
It was a case of hitting the bar as all three of my tips fell short on Sunday but onwards and upwards for Monday.
Crystal Palace have gone 14 league games without a clean sheet and after conceding 10 in their last two matches the last thing they need is a visit from Leicester City who boast the second best away points tally (18) in the division.
The Foxes have the chance to move back in to second and a point behind Liverpool. The way results have gone this weekend I’m loathe to take ANY team to win in the Premier League so I’m going for a goals angle in this one. Over 2.5 match goals appeals at 10/11 but I’m pretty sure Leicester will get on the scoresheet and happy to take 10/11 that they can add another.
Chelsea v Villa could go either way. The Blues never turned up against Arsenal and they now find themselves in eighth, one position behind Monday’s opponents despite having played two games more.
At 8/13 it’d be a brave man to back Frank Lampard’s side which means Aston Villa look over-priced based on either side’s form at 4/1. Were it not for Chelsea exceptional record in the fixture I’d be all over it.
Instead I’m going for a BetBuilder that focuses on goals and cards. Referee Stuart Atwell is the most prolific in the league, handing out 5 yellows per match on average, allied to Villa picking up more cards than any other side we could see some cards being flashed at Stamford Bridge.
Recommended Bets
- Leicester City to score 2+ 10/11 (Bet365)
- Over 0 Villa Goals, Over 0 Villa Cards, Over 0 Chelsea Cards 10/11 (Bet365)
