An entertaining London Derby is on the cards tonight as Crystal Palace host Arsenal on Monday Night Football.
Palace’s form has been pretty good this year. Their only three defeats in 14 games since the turn of the year have been to West Ham (6th), Liverpool (2nd) and Chelsea (3rd) – a run that’s seen them reach the FA Cup semi-final, climb to 12th in the table and thwart Man City for a second time this season in a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park.
Arsenal’s struggles against top six sides is well documented but their record against teams in the bottom half is very impressive, taking 30 points from a possible 42, only suffering defeats at the hands of Everton and Brentford.
After Chelsea’s shock defeat to Brentford on Saturday a win for the Gunners would see them move to within just two points of the Blues which could line up a thriller at Stamford Bridge where the two sides meet later this month.
Aside from a 0-0 draw back in January last year this fixture is usually a very watchable one and both sides have shared the points on no fewer than five of the last seven occasions. Both teams to score has landed in eight of the last 10 and Over 2.5 Goals in the same eight, in fact ALL eight finished over 3.5 with three of those aforementioned draws finishing 2-2.
With both teams in good form we can look forward to another exciting match and there’s no reason why it can’t follow the trends of previous meetings. Over 2.5 looks a very generous 11/10 and if you’re feeling bold so does Over 3.5 at 3/1. BTTS is also nicely priced at 19/20.
