AC Milan could end this weekend at the top of the Serie A standings if they beat Fiorentina and Napoli fail to pick up a win at Inter Milan.
Juventus’ demise over recent seasons has allowed other clubs to challenge at the top of the standings and this term it is Napoli and Milan that are starting to pull clear.
Napoli currently lead the way but they are only ahead of Milan on goal difference, with both sides yet to taste defeat after 12 outings.
They both face tough assignments this weekend, with Milan heading to Fiorentina at 19:45 on Saturday and Napoli travelling to defending champions Inter at 17:00 on Sunday.
Milan Looking to Hit the Right Notes Against Viola
Stefano Pioli’s side finished second to Inter Milan last season and they look set to be in the mix once again this time around.
I Rossoneri are seven points clear of third-placed Inter after the two Milan-based clubs played out a 1-1 draw prior to the international break.
Milan, priced at 6/4, get out on the road this weekend to face 19/10 Fiorentina, who sit seventh after losing four of their last six.
Stefano Pioli’s men came out on top in both meetings with Fiorentina last season campaign, winning 3-2 in the away fixture, and another victory with both teams to score is available at 16/5.
Sarri Seeking Revenge
Lazio’s record against Juventus doesn’t make for pleasant reading, failing to win any of the last three meetings, however, that could be set to change on Saturday.
Former Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri will undoubtedly be looking to exact some revenge on his former employer as Lazio attempt to further strengthen their position in the standings.
La Aquile are priced attractively at 39/20 to win at the Stadio Olimpico and they boast the best home record in the division, winning five and drawing one.
They are fifth overall and could end the weekend as high as fourth if they win and results elsewhere go in their favour.
Juventus, available at 29/20, have lacked consistency and return to domestic action sitting in eighth after already tasting defeat on four occasions.
The Old Lady did halt a three-game winless streak, which included two losses, prior to the international break courtesy of a 1-0 win at home to Fiorentina.
It’s also worth noting that Juventus haven’t won in two away from home, losing to Verona when last on the road.
Road Form Key for Napoli
Leaders Napoli have been the form side away from home in 2021-22, winning five and drawing one, while they’ve conceded just twice during those six fixtures.
They’ll need to keep it tight at the back on Sunday when they head to defending champions Inter Milan for a 17:00 clash.
Napoli have lost their last two visits to Inter without scoring a single goal and that appears to have been taken into consideration in their price of 9/4 to come out on top.
Inter are available at 5/4 to build pick up all three points and the draw can be backed at 49/20.
Backing under 1.5 goals at 29/10 also offers interest when considering that Napoli have conceded just four all season.
