In 2009, the Manifesto Novices’ Chase was established as a Grade Two race. However, this National Hunt steeplechase was promoted to a Grade One race in 2012.
The Manifesto Novices’ Chase was named after the Grand National champion Manifesto. Between 1895 and 1904, Manifesto ran in the Grand National eight times. Out of these, he placed six times and won twice.
The sixteen-fence race is held as part of the Grand National meeting every April. It is, as the name suggests, meant for novice chasers.

Merseyrail Manifesto Novices’ Chase: Tips, Predictions and Previews
A really good start to the card and cases can be made for plenty in the Manifesto. Hitman and FUSIL RAFFLES are huge players, the latter having finished second in last month’s Marsh Novices Chase at Cheltenham. He could be good enough to go a place better here for Nicky Henderson. At the prices and with the promise of further improvement to come, Umbrigado is a fair price to give a good account too.
