IT could be a case of getting QUEEN’S PARK while you can for tomorrow’s clash with Edinburgh City at Hampden because it might be one of the very few chances you have this season at getting them above odds-on.
League Two could well turn into a procession for the now-professional Spiders and that should be no surprise when you consider the squad they have.
Goals initially appeared to be a bit of a struggle, but that’s three games in a row they have scored three goals in…and they have yet to start star signing Simon Murray. His cameo roles off the bench suggest he should tear up this league.
Guys like Peter Grant, Jai Quitongo, Grant Gillespie and Bob McHugh should be nowhere near Scottish football’s fourth tier and that’s only likely to become more evident as the season progresses.
Edinburgh City are on a fine run themselves and have rattled in nine goals in their last two matches, but Annan and Albion Rovers aren’t at the same level.
They’ve also already lost three times in the league already this season and Ray McKinnon’s side should take care of business.
CALEY THISTLE have been motoring recently and they can continue their run against a flakey Dundee side in Inverness.
John Robertson’s outfit have chalked up really impressive wins against Raith Rovers and Queen of the South recently. In fact, they’ve won their last three games without conceding a goal.
In-form Kai Kennedy has been their star man and the Rangers loanee has looked a class above.
The Dens Park side look shaky at home and struggle on the road – in their three away games in the Championship, they’ve picked up one point, at Alloa and conceded 11 goals.
Inverness appear to be hitting form too and they can keep up their chasing of Hearts with another three points.
ROSS COUNTY are worth taking a double chance on with a draw or a win at Pittodrie against an Aberdeen side in disarray.
Derek McInnes’ men looked like certainties for third spot at the very least earlier this season, but the wheels have come off recently with injuries, Covid setbacks and suspensions to key men.
They’ve also resorted back to the turgid hoofball football which has turned their fans against the manager again with the return of striker Sam Cosgrove, which has actually been a negative so far.
County are no mugs and, having won at Celtic the other week, can trouble a Dons side struggling for form and confidence.
