LAST week’s League Cup ties saw Alloa create one of the big shocks and fellow Championship side AYR UNITED firmly put in their place.
But the Somerset Park men won’t be caring too much about that and they can get their league campaign back on track with a win in Clackmannanshire.
Ayr were thrashed by Livingston last week, but they love a match against the Wasps, who were lauded after eliminating Hearts last week.
United won all three meetings between the sides last season and have also won in their last four meetings at the Indodrill Stadium.
Alloa have picked up just one point from their five league games so far this season. Last week’s upset against Hearts masked that fact.
Mark Kerr’s men have been motoring along quite nicely so far this term in the league anyway and look a nice price at 23/20 to get another three points.
KILMARNOCK lost three points without kicking a ball this week and they will travel to Hamilton Accies with a sense of injustice on Saturday.
The Ayrshire side were far from impressed at the decision to award a 3-0 win to Motherwell due to Covid issues and they could take their frustrations out on Accies.
Hamilton stopped their recent alarming rot with a midweek draw against an understrength Aberdeen team, but Brian Rice is facing their toughest task yet to keep them afloat in the Premiership.
They seem to be lacking the shock factor this season that has previously seen them pull a result out of nowhere.
Alex Dyer’s men have got back on track after a sticky run and have won their last three games, albeit two of them were against lesser opponents in the League Cup.
But they still managed to defeat Ross County despite playing with ten men for 82 minutes and appear to be on the right track to win against an Accies side they have already defeated this season.
Motherwell and Hibs can contribute to OVER 2.5 GOALS in what should be an entertaining game at Fir Park.
Both sides like to go forward and both teams are generous defensively. Motherwell are the joint highest team for conceding goals at home, while over half of Hibs’ games have seen them go over the three-goal barrier.
There’s plenty of attacking threat in Kevin Nisbet and Tony Watt from both sides and while you could argue a case for picking a winner for either side, evens for goals looks a safer shout.
