As promised, here’s the halftime update at The Masters. It’s been an absolutely thrilling two days of golf, Augusta never disappoints so where are we at the halfway stage now that the cut has been determined?
Well as mentioned in the main preview, I said it could be a case of catch me if you can with our main selection Scottie Scheffler 16/1 EW.
This 25-year-old from New Jersey is on fire, and no one can touch him at the moment. The best outright price I can find at the time of writing is 21/20 Bet365. A massive well done to each and every one of you who jumped on Scheffler at 16/1 as advised in the preview. Now this tournament is by no means over, so I definitely wouldn’t be counting my money just yet.
It’s only halfway with still lots of golf to play but Scottie Scheffler has certainly put himself in the driving seat and it is most certainly the case as advised on Tuesday of catching me if you can. Five shots is a massive lead, especially here at Augusta, I’ve tried to look back at previous Masters to see if anyone has had a better advantage at the halfway stage but I’m struggling to find anyone. Maybe you can point this out if anyone ever has had more than a five-shot lead heading into the weekend.
There will most certainly be lots more thrills and spills over the weekend but Scottie Scheffler has The Masters in his pocket and it’s his to throw away now.
He now looks the most likely candidate to be getting measured up on Sunday evening and then presented with the world-famous Green Jacket but as mentioned it’s definitely not a given just yet although it does look good for the World No 1.
Where are our other selections at the halfway stage?
I’m also pleased to announce that if you were on our 5pts Super Nap Bryson De Chambeau to miss the cut at 6/4 Bet365, then go collect! I said in the preview that Bryson is still nowhere near 100% yet with the return from injury and all the distractions with this Saudi Breakaway carry on.
I also mentioned that Augusta is the last thing that Bryson needs at the moment. I think he proved me right missing the cut not just by a few shots but way off the +4 target. Bryson completed both rounds on +12 shooting rounds of 76 & 80 so it wasn’t even close in the end.
Well done to all of you who were all over my Super Nap, go collect and enjoy your winnings.
Our other two selections are still in with every chance as well, Justin Thomas 14/1 is currently on -1 so he will certainly feel he can still win this while Rory McIlroy 20/1 is further back on +2 so definitely not out of it quite yet either.
Good luck with whoever you’re on everyone, enjoy the rest of the weekend at The Masters and let’s hope Scottie Scheffler can continue to run away with this and bag his first major in tremendous style . ⛳️🏌️♂️
