Livingston v Aberdeen
ABERDEEN have been the subject of support that’s seen them come in from 7/4 to 13/8 to win at Livingston and they should oblige their backers.
The Dons have started the season well under Stephen Glass and his new recruits appear to have hit the ground running. New striker partnership Christian Ramrirez and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas look encouraging, while Scott Brown holding the midfield together has allowed Lewis Ferguson to push forward, with the result the Dons actually look like they have goals in them.
The American international scored another double in their win in Iceland and there’s a feelgood factor among the Dons right now.
Livingston were really poor at Ibrox last week and while the same charge can be levelled at plenty teams playing against Rangers in Glasgow this season, alarm bells are already there.
They flopped badly at the end of last season with just one win in their last 15 games and look like they could be continuing that trend this season.
Aberdeen haven’t lost in West Lothian since 2004 and should be aiming to get another three points on the board.
Queen of the South v Kilmarnock
KILMARNOCK swept aside local rivals Ayr United on Monday and can win against another reasonably nearby team when they travel to Dumfries to play Queen of the South.
Tommy Wright has made huge chances at Rugby Park after last season’s disastrous relegation and has brought in 16 players.
Many of them look more than decent for the Championship and Wright now has plenty of options.
They dominated against an Ayr team who are likely to be at a similar standard to Queen of the South, who narrowly went down to a loss at Partick Thistle.
South have yet to keep a clean sheet this season in the league and League Cup and Killie really need to go to places like Palmerston Park and return with three points if they are to justify title favouritism.
Stirling Albion v Kelty Hearts
Another title favourites – KELTY HEARTS in League Two – are odds-against at 6/5 to win at Stirling Albion and you might not get them at odds-against too many times this season.
The big-spending Fifers have a squad that should dominate after Kevin Thomson was given the funds to recruit the likes of Joe Cardle, Jamie Barjonas and Tam O’Ware.
Albion did well in the League Cup section and won at Stenhousemuir last week, but this is a big ask against a Kelty team crammed full of performers who should be at a higher level.
