MARK WALKER is an experienced Scottish journalist and tipster and in conjunction with McBookie we’re delighted to bring him on board.
Anyone who reads the Racing Post will know his name as he did Scottish tips for the paper until the start of this season.
Mark is now doing a weekly blog for McBookie and here are his thoughts for this weekend.
He says: “Hibs can keep their start of season bandwagon rolling by winning what could be an entertaining clash at Easter Road against Motherwell.
“Jack Ross’ side have been the toast of punters since the new season began with three wins in a row and they’ve been backed again to win on Saturday night.
“And there could be better value in backing Hibs and both teams to score at 31-10.
“There are goals all over this Hibs team wth Kevin Nisbet, Christian Doidge and Martin Boyle all contributing this season. But defensively they still have to convince.
“Motherwell received the proverbial boot up the backside from boss Stephen Robinson after a midweek draw with Livingston where they twice tossed away the lead and already, at this early stage, they don’t look to be the same side who over-achieved last season.
“They won’t go down fighting though and they could easily net in Leith, although Hibs should have more firepower.
“And rather than taking the short price on Hibs a win with both scoring makes more appeal.
“St Mirren look a big price to win at Hamilton Accies. Jim Goodwin’s men were blown away at Ibrox last Sunday but won’t be the last to suffer that fate.
“Saturday’s game at New Douglas Park is their bread and butter and it’s hard to see why Accies are favourites, apart from home advantage perhaps.
“Already, Accies look like a relegation dogfight is the best they can look forward to this season. Saints seem a superior side to Accies player for player all over the pitch.
“It’s unlikely to be a classic but St Mirren can dig out an important win.
“Rangers can keep up their winning start too by beating Livingston minus one goal on the handicaps.
“Steven Gerrard’s side appears to be relishing playing in front of no fans and he has real options up front now with the additions of Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe. Crucially, he at last seems to be prepared to alter tactics rather than stick to a rigid 4-3-3.
“What’s impressed though is the ease they have cruised to those wins without really coming close to hitting top form.
“Livingston this season are a different animal from last season. Put simply, they can’t defend.
“Gary Holt has already indicated he wants a battle in West Lothian but the Ibrox side should surely be too cute for that and can win with plenty to spare.”
