DUNDEE can give themselves a huge lift in their battle to beat the drop with a win against St Johnstone on Saturday.
Manager Mark McGhee is still searching for his first win, but he and his players will have taken enormous belief from their last game before the split where they outplayed street rivals Dundee United at Tannadice and battled back from being two goals down to claim a draw.
They really should have won and that was against a United side who fairly comfortably made it into the top six.
Only a win will do for Dundee, who are five points behind Saints. But Callum Davidson’s side were absolutely battered 7-0 by
Celtic in their last game before the split and that won’t have helped morale.
Dundee ended a long losing run against St Johnstone when they defeated them convincingly at Dens Park earlier this season and they can do it again at a decent price of 13/8.
There’s a host of games that mean very little with just two regular weekends left and in one of those, STIRLING ALBION can pile on the misery to an Albion Rovers side who appear to be on their holidays already.
The Binos have had a fairly miserable League Two campaign on and off the pitch and they really should be performing better, Last week, they fell to a dismal loss at home to Elgin City after showing promise by holding champions Kelty Hearts to a draw in Fife the previous week.
But the Coatbridge side have suffered two hammerings in a row where they conceded five at home to Stranraer and four away to Stenhousemuir.
Stirling are narrow outsiders surprisingly at 8/5 and Rovers have got to be backed against on current form.
HIBS axed Shaun Maloney this week and they can get a win for caretaker boss and permanent legend David Gray at a freefalling St Mirren.
The Easter Road side won plaudits for their performance at Hampden against Hearts where they battled back and could easily have snatched a draw with ten men.
It wasn’t enough to save Maloney and things were clearly far from right behind the scenes.
With the pressure off, they can add to Saints’ woes, who have lost seven of their last eight games, with the exception being a last gasp goal at Dundee.
Defeat here could spark panic stations and Hibs can take advantage at 11/8.
