Ultra Prime enter Week 4 of LPL 2023 Summer with a 3-3 record, which isn’t bad for this team’s standards. Ultra Prime won’t be competing for the LPL crown anytime soon and are one of the weaker teams in the league, but they can have their moments when faced with squads of similar calibre.
Last week, Ultra Prime defeated ThunderTalk Gaming (2-1) and lost against Ninjas in Pyjamas (0-2), and a week prior, they lost both of their games against Team WE (0-2) and Bilibili Gaming (0-2) without showing much resistance. So while Ultra Prime can’t punch up, they usually do well against other teams on their level, such as Rare Atom.
Rare Atom entered the summer split with a new and exciting roster which was expected to struggle early, but things have been a bit out of control. With a 2-4 record which includes wins against LGD Gaming (2-1) and FunPlus Phoenix (2-0), Rare Atom have yet to show anything too promising, and the hopes of this team stabilising and finding traction are slowly fading.
However, Rare Atom, with their explosive playstyle, can be a thorn in the side of any team – just as much as it can work against them – so they’re a good pick when priced as big underdogs. But in this case, backing Ultra Prime at $2.10 makes more sense.

FunPlus Phoenix are struggling, and that’s an understatement. They’re 1-5 ahead of LPL 2023 Summer Week 4, and their only win came against ThunderTalk Gaming (2-0) on day one of the split. On Friday, FunPlus Phoenix played Royal Never Give Up and again showed put their main weaknesses, poor decision-making and execution, on full display.
This roster isn’t it, and it seems like even through all the lineup changes, FunPlus Phoenix have failed to improve in areas that prevented them from succeeding in spring.
Invictus Gaming haven’t accomplished much this split either and enter this match on a five-game losing streak. But in their defence, IG had to play Oh My God (0-2), EDward Gaming (1-2), and Team WE (0-2) over their last three outings. In addition to their rough schedule, Invictus Gaming have only two games with Liao “Wen” Wen-Wei and Jiang “beishang” Zhi-Peng as starting top laner and jungler, and in both matches, IG looked better.
It’s tough to say how high Invictus Gaming can reach, but the Wen-beishang combination has improved the team. So as much as Invictus Gaming still have a lot to prove, they shouldn’t struggle against FunPlus Phoenix on Tuesday.
