Oh My God are an interesting team because they tend to play up and down to the level of their competition. They’re 2-2 ahead of Week 3 of LPL 2023 Summer with wins against Weibo Gaming (2-1) and Royal Never Give Up (2-1) and two good defeats against Bilibili Gaming (0-2) and JD Gaming (0-2).
We’ve seen Oh My Good produce some shaky performances, but there’s one obvious trend – if top laner Deng “shanji” Zi-Jian plays well, the team will look much better. Luckily, he’ll have his work cut out for him against Li “Invincible” Xiao-Bing.
The top lane gap here is alone to feel confident in Oh My God’s chances to sweep, but OMG are also much better than Ninjas in Pyjamas as a unit. The latter might’ve won two series (3-2) so far this split, but those wins came against Anyone’s Legend (2-0), LGD Gaming (2-1), and Invictus Gaming (2-0) – who played uncharacteristically poorly on the day.
There’s very little to suggest Ninjas in Pyjamas can keep up with OMG, let alone cause an upset. Even though Oh My God can be a bit inconsistent, anything less than a 2-0 sweep will be a massive disappointment.

Royal Never Give Up lost against Oh My God on Saturday, marking their second defeat of the split, following a rough 0-2 loss against LNG Esports at the end of LPL 2023 Summer Week 1. On the other hand, Royal Never Give Up secured two convincing wins against Rare Atom (2-0) and Invictus Gaming (2-0), which is enough to retain their tag as a mid-table team.
JD Gaming enter Week 3 of LPL 2023 Summer with a 4-1 record. Their only defeat happened in the split opener against Weibo Gaming (0-2). However, JD Gaming have since added four straight wins against LNG Esports (2-1), Oh My God (2-0), LNG Gaming (2-1), and EDward Gaming (2-0), who they defeated on Saturday.
JD Gaming are the better team and deserving favourite, but we must question the offered price. Even though Royal Never Give Up have yet to show anything against an elite-tier team, they can be dangerous, and we’ve seen JD Gaming slip a couple of times this split. JDG should win, but the number is wrong.
