Liverpool Hoping to Keep Pace with Manchester Duo

03/02/2021 admin

Back-to-back league wins have put the Reds firmly back in the hunt for the Premier League crown, which they won for the first time last season, and they will fancy their chances of notching up another victory against the Seagulls.

Those victories over Tottenham and West Ham have restored some of Liverpool’s confidence after a sticky patch but they still need to return to winning ways at Anfield, where they have failed to win in their last three.

Brighton will pose a threat on Wednesday, as they head into the game on the back of a four-match unbeaten run, but they have only won two of their last 15 away league games and they have a dismal record against the Reds.

Liverpool are unbeaten against the Seagulls in the last 12 meetings across all competitions and the Reds may be worth backing to win to nil at 7/5.

West Ham Tough Nut to Crack

Wednesday’s meeting between Aston Villa and West Ham promises to be a cracking affair, with both teams punching above their weight this season.

Villa are sitting ninth in the standings ahead of the clash, having amassed 32 points from 19 matches, while West Ham are just four points off the top four.

The Hammers were brought back down to earth when they lost 3-1 to Liverpool on Sunday, while Villa have won two of their last three to continue their resurgence.

However, Villa don’t fare too well in the head-to-head stats, having won just one of their last nine top-flight meetings with West Ham.

The Hammers should be able to leave with Villa Park with at least a draw and the 5/7 on offer in the double chance market looks appealing.

League Double on Leeds’ Mind

Leeds can climb into the top half of the Premier League with a win on Wednesday, but they will need to be at their best to get past Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton, who are hoping to bounce back from the 2-0 loss to Newcastle at the weekend.

Leeds won 1-0 at Goodison Park in the reverse fixture and they are looking for their first league double over the Toffees since the 1990-91 season, when they were also a newly-promoted side.

Patrick Bamford should be fit to start which is a significant boost for the Whites, who can claim at least a point on home soil and looks appealing in the double chance market at 20/41.

City to Maintain Title Charge at Turf Moor

Pep Guardiola’s Man City have not suffered defeat in 12 Premier League matches. Their win over Sheffield United helped them put further pressure on Manchester United and Liverpool, but the Citizens face another stern challenge against Burnley.

Burnley will be doing all they can to turn Wednesday’s tie into a physical battle but they don’t have a great record against the Citizens, who are unbeaten in the last nine meetings with the Clarets.

Guardiola’s side ran out 5-0 winners the last time they met in November and with Burnley still struggling to string results together, an away win for City and over 2.5 goals looks a fair price at 4/5.

Fulham Hoping to Take Advantage at Craven Cottage

Fulham welcome Leicester to West London this week, hoping to extend their unbeaten run to three matches.

Scott Parker’s side may be struggling to win matches, but they are making life very difficult for the opposition of late and racking up the draws this season.

Leicester will travel without Jamie Vardy for the third game in succession and they look to be missing his pace in the final third. The Foxes have not won since he last played in the Premier League and their record at Craven Cottage is poor.

Leicester have not won in five at Fulham and it may be worth taking on the Cottagers in the double chance market at 20/23.
