Leinster have been the dominant force in Pro14 over the past few years, winning the final in 2018 and 2019, and they have continued that fine form in 2019-20.
They won all 15 of their games during the regular season to finish top of Conference A, 25 points clear of Ulster, before easing past Ulster in the playoff semi-finals.
Leinster Worthy of Favourites Tag
It’s no surprise that they are 4/27 favourites to win Saturday’s clash at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin as they look to extend their winning run across all competitions to 25.
Ulster, who are 4/1 outsiders, may have finished second in Conference A but they limped over the line after losing their last two matches of the season.
The Belfast-based outfit have only won one of their last seven meetings with Leinster across all competitions, losing both encounters in 2019-20, and will need to put in the performance of their lives to prevail this weekend.
Champions to Make Fast Start
With a record-extending seventh title in their sights, Leinster are expected to come out of the traps quickly and that has certainly been the case in recent meetings with Ulster.
Leinster were firmly in control with a 13-0 advantage when they travelled to Ulster last month, while they have led at half time in the last six meetings.
They led at half time in all-but one of their domestic games during 2019-20 and can be backed at 10/27 be ahead at the break on Saturday.
Free-Scoring Leinster to Romp Home
As mentioned earlier, Leinster were in a league of their own during the regular season and they were comfortably the highest-scorers in the division.
They scored 531 points during 2019-20, hitting 40 or better in seven of their 15 outings, and Leo Cullen will be hoping his men can wrap up a third successive title in style.
The most recent meeting between Ulster and Leinster, which took place on August 29, ended in a 28-10 triumph for the latter.
Dipping into the winning margin market is likely to be the best way to get some value from this clash.
Considering Leinster won by an 18-point margin just two weeks ago when playing away from home, it seems safe to say that victory by 6-10 points in the final is an attractive option at 17/4, although that could even prove to be too conservative.
Indeed, Leinster have earned victory by a minimum of 12 points in five of their last six Pro 14 meetings with Ulster, having also triumphed by margins of 33 and 31 during that sequence.
Therefore, backing the defending champions to win by 11-15 points at 9/2 could be the way to go.
