Rogue and Fnatic went into last week’s joint top, but after two sloppy performances from Fnatic, they handed over the top spot to Rogue heading into the final week. Rogue had a major opportunity to go 2-0 ahead of second place, however, another loss to MAD Lions means they’ll go into the last week in first place with a one-game buffer over second place.
MAD Lions v G2 Esports
It’s going to be a really tricky week for MAD Lions, with the side in joint-second place with Fnatic and Misfits. They’ll face three sides around them as they look to secure a high playoff standing. With the first match against G2 Esports, MAD Lions then face off against Fnatic on day two before Misfits on Sunday night. It’s going to be a tricky weekend, but if MAD Lions can go 3-0, they’ll more than deserve their spot.
As for G2 Esports, it looks like they might finally be finding their form, though they’ve left it very late. After going 2-0 in week 7, G2 Esports will be looking to secure high standing for playoffs. Understandably, G2 Esports are the favourites here, but we’re going for MAD Lions here at 10/13.
MAD Lions v Fnatic
As for Fnatic, they’ll face an equally challenging week. With a day one match against Misfits, day two will see Fnatic face chasing side MAD Lions, before a final day match against Schalke 04. Fnatic had been heading to playoffs in a good vein of form, however, a 0-2 week last week has caused the side to drop out the top spot.
While there’s always a chance that Fnatic re-find their form, for me, this is MAD Lions week. With three crucial games, I think they’ll take all 3 matches, claim the top spot and go on to win back-to-back titles in the LEC. This will be some feat, and the odds back that up. At 21/20 to beat Fnatic, they’ll be worth a look.
Misfits v MAD Lions
Misfits have continued to stick around the top of the LEC table. While they’ve dropped off the top spot in recent weeks, they’ve locked in a playoff spot before the final week as they try to claim a higher placing. As we’ve highlighted above, Misfits will face a tough task taking down MAD Lions, a side that will be directly competing against them for a spot at the top of the LEC table.
A lot will depend on what happens on Friday and Saturday, however, we do think that MAD Lions can take this one. At 20/27 it could be MAD Lions’ most likely victory on paper. However, as always, if MAD Lions come into this final series locked into their league position, bet on them with caution. But assuming this game means something to both sides, I’m backing MAD Lions to go 3-0.
