Heading into week five of the LCS and we’re starting to see a similar picture appearing. With Cloud9 running away with the league already, with Team SoloMid and Team Liquid in hot pursuit, the LCS top 3 are already taking shape. Behind them are Evil Geniuses and Fly Quest who have continued to pick up results while Counter Logic Gaming and Golden Guardians make up the middle of the pack.
The bottom of the table is one of our focus areas today. Dignitas, still without a win facing off against Immortals who themselves have picked up just the one win, with 100 Thieves just ahead of them on 2 victories.
Below we’ve selected three of our top pick matches that you won’t want to miss.
Team SoloMid v Cloud9
The top of the table class sees the two of the most storied sides in the LCS face off. Cloud9 is the new superstar side, going unbeaten so far in Summer Split and looking like having an 18-0 split. Cloud9 just seems to be the full package in the LCS this split and have shown how big the gap is within the league between the top and bottom sides. Cloud9 are runaway favourites in the series at 2/9
, so might be a safe bet in a multi-win ticket.
Team SoloMid go into the series with Cloud9 looking strong. Having had a few wobbles at the start of the split, the side has started to settle into the Summer Split and is beginning to show the Team SoloMid of old. That said, Cloud9 offers up the sides toughest challenge yet, and could be the reality check fans don’t want right now. We have them at 3/1
, but they could just be the side to upset the applecart.
Counter Logic Gaming v Team Liquid
Counter Logic Gaming come into week five off the back of a 0-2 week. That said, it was against Cloud9 and Team SoloMid, so they won’t feel completely crushed by it. Unfortunately, Team Liquid is the other top side in the LCS and could see CLG go 0-3 in as many games. CLG has proven they have quality but proving that against the top sides is what will propel them up the table. We have them at 33/20
to spring an upset over a Team Liquid side that goes into the week in good form.
As mentioned above, Team Liquid go into week five as an in-form side. Team Liquid has been fairly good at brushing aside the weaker sides in the LCS, bar a slight hiccup against Evil Geniuses. They go into the series as 5/11
favourites as they look to have another 2-0 week, continuing their march towards a place at Worlds.
Dignitas v Immortals
The battle at the bottom. While not normally the sort of thing you want to highlight, Dignitas and Immortals have been less than stellar so far. However, week four saw a few changes to the rosters and Dignitas even held their own against Cloud9… for a while. It could finally be time for Dignitas to pick up a win, and this would certainly be the time, and the team to do it against. We have them at 6/4
to take down Immortals.
On the other side of the rift is Immortals, another side that’s made changes but hasn’t yet started to look their best. A week 3 victory against Golden Guardians gave the side some hope, but it’s quickly be swept aside since. Immortals go into the series as favourites at 1/2
though it might be more down to their opponent, rather than any real expectation of them performing.
