It’s hard to make much sense of Afreeca Freecs’ results over the last two weeks. At the end of July, they forced T1 to three maps (1-2), took down Gen.G (2-1) and DWG KIA (2-1), and then went on to lose against DRX (1-2).
Nongshim RedForce fought their way to the top of the LCK league standings, where they sit with a 11-4 record. Although an impressive record on paper, RedForce aren’t as good as their current position would suggest and seem due to some regression.
Last week, they lost against Liiv SANDBOX and struggled against Hanwha Life Esports (2-1) and Fredit BRION (2-1). Those results don’t necessarily mean that RedForce are weak; however, they are beatable, which should make this match much closer than expected.

Fredit BRION enter this match following a painful 0-2 defeat against DWG KIA, who eliminated them from the LCK 2021 Summer playoffs race. Since Fredit BRION have nothing left to fight for, we might see a more open and aggressive playstyle from them on Saturday.
Liiv SANDBOX swept Hanwha Life Esports (2-0) on Thursday, which keeps them in a tight race for the regular-season title. They’re 10-5, behind Gen.G (10-4) and Nongshim RedForce (11-4), but still in an excellent spot to compete for a top-two finish.
Without taking into account the motivation factor for this match, it’s very easy to view Liiv SANDBOX as the most likely victors. They have been phenomenal over the last two weeks, and if they can keep their wheels spinning, they should get it done in two maps.
