KevMac marks our card for today’s action in the lower leagues in Scotland and provides his best bets for the day.
Hamilton v Kilmarnock
HAMILTON begin life without Brian Rice today when they face Kilmarnock in the Championship.
The Accies boss shocked most people in the game when he stood down last week after a patchy start to the new campaign.
Academy chief George Cairns has been placed in temporary charge alongside Guillaume Beuzelin and they face a tricky task lifting morale for the clash with in-form Killie.
Tommy Wright’s title favourites have started life in the second tier with two successive wins to nil.
And of the two teams relegated last season they look in much better shape than Hamilton to bounce back straight away.
Accies lost 1-0 at home to Morton after a thrilling 4-4 draw with Raith so Kilmarnock look good value at 19/20 with Betway for a win today.
If you want to boost those odds a little, a Killie win with over 2.5 match goals pays 19/10 at McBookie.
Arbroath v Partick Thistle
Partick Thistle have also made a flying start but won’t get it easy as they chase a third successive win at Arbroath today.
Gayfield is one of the toughest venues in the league so I’m staying clear of backing a winner and going for BTTS instead at 10/13 (Mansionbet).
Inverness v Ayr Utd
Inverness are the only other side with a perfect record so far and they host improving Ayr. The Honest Men should have knocked Dundee United out of the cup last weekend so I fancy BTTS again in this one at 5/6 (Mansionbet).
Ayr striker Tomi Adeloye has picked up bookings in both league games so far and is 2/1 at McBookie for another card.
League One was good to me last weekend as all of my bets came up.
Alloa v Queen’s Park
Queen’s Park have made a flying start but face a tough test at Alloa today.
The stingy Spiders have conceded just one goal so far in the league so I fancy under 2.5 strikes at 10/11 with McBookie.
Dumbarton v Cove Rangers
Cove are showing signs of life after a slow start and look decent value at 19/20 (W Hill) for a win away to Dumbarton.
Deadly Mitch Megginson hit a hat-trick against East Fife last week and is evens at McBookie to grab another today.
Falkirk v Clyde
Falkirk finally look to be getting their act together and are just 4/9 at McBookie to beat Clyde at home.
Callum Morrison signed a new deal in midweek and is evens at McBookie to celebrate with a goal.
Elgin City v Forfar
Forfar showed they are ready to push Kelty for the League Two crown by holding the favourites to a 2-2 draw last weekend.
The Loons now head to Elgin and look great value at 17/10 with Betfair.
Kelty Hearts v Edinburgh City
Kelty host Edinburgh City and backing top scorer Nathan Austin to score in a win pays 6/5 at McBookie.
Super Singles
BTTS Double
- Arbroath v Partick, ICT v Ayr (224/100, Mansionbet).
McBookie Bet Builder
- COMBINING a Falkirk win with over 2.5 goals and over 1.5 cards pays 135/100
