MOST of the world wants Scotland to lose tonight but the bookies make them favourites to beat Ukraine and line up a play-off final with Wales.
It will be an emotional night at Hampden as the Ukrainians return to international football for the first time since the Russian invasion.
They’ve only played friendlies against club sides in the build-up and McBookie make them 5/4 outsiders to go through, with the Scots are short as 8/13.
Steve Clarke’s men are 5/4 for a victory in 90 minutes but both their Euro 2020 play-offs went all the way to penalties so only optimistic fans will bank on a comfortable night.
The best option for punters could be the corner markets as Ukraine have failed to win over four corners in their last five World Cup qualifiers.
Scotland, in contrast, have hit double figures in two of their last three at Hampden, so backing Clarke’s side at -2 in the corner handicap looks great value at 23/20 with BetVictor.
Another good option is cards for Ukrainian players as they will be pumped up and should fly into challenges.
Defender Illia Zabarnyi has picked up six yellows this season and is 11/4 with BoyleSports for another card.
Che Adams ended the season badly at Southampton but is still Scotland’s best striker and he’s 12/5 at Paddy Power for anytime scorer.
Wales gear up for the play-off final with a friendly in Poland but their minds will be on Sunday so the Poles are rightful 5/6 favourites at Betway.
Backing the home side to be winning at half-time and full-time increases the odds to 2/1 at SBK.
Super singles
- Scotland -2 corner handicap (23/20, BetVictor)
- Zabarnyi to be carded (11/4, BoyleSports)
McBookie bet builder
- Combining a Che Adams strike with over 1.5 match goals pays 279/100.
