Portugal v Germany
GERMANY fans headed into Euro 2020 with an unfamiliar sense of doubt after some dismal results in the last year.
And those fears have only heightened after kicking off the Group of Death by losing to France in Munich.
The recall of veterans Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller had some optimists thinking Joachim Low’s side would bounce back from a 6-0 hiding by Spain plus a 2-1 loss to North Macedonia.
Instead, Hummels scored an own goal to gift the French a 1-0 win in a match where Germany barely laid a glove on the world champs.
I tipped France for a win on Tuesday at generous odds of 17/10 and they showed why they are most people’s favourites to win the Euros.
It was a big blow for Germany and they must pick themselves up for a major clash with Portugal today.
The Portuguese kicked off with a 3-0 win over Hungary as 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo netted twice.
I backed Ronaldo to score in that game and if he’s in the mood again today, it could be another worrying 90 minutes for fans inside the Allianz Arena.
A second defeat wouldn’t knock Low’s side out as they could still sneak into the last 16 by beating Hungary.
But that would leave them relying on results elsewhere so they will be determined to take something from the European champions.
A draw wouldn’t be the worst result for either side so it could pay to back that at 23/10 with McBookie.
It has taken games a while to warm up at the finals, with the vast majority of goals coming after the break.
SportNation are offering 5/4 on the second period being the highest-scoring half while a 0-0 half-time score pays 16/11.
The final score flattered Portugal in Budapest as they struggled to break down Hungary’s defence. Germany also lacked punch in attack so under 2.5 goals stands a chance here at a best 5/6 with SportNation.

Hungary v France
France can book their slot in the last 16 with a win in Hungary today and it’s no surprise to see them as short as 3/10 at McBookie.
The Hungarians will sit back and try to hit on the counter, roared on by a big crowd in the Puskas Arena.
I’d be surprised if the French blew them away so try doubling a win for Didier Deschamps with under 2.5 goals at 2/1 (McBookie).
Karim Benzema played well against Germany and only VAR stopped him from grabbing the goal his overall play deserved.
The Real Madrid striker is 7/5 with BetVictor to net against the Hungarians.
Spain v Poland
SHOT-SHY Spain will need to find their killer instinct if they’re to dump Poland today and spark their Euros bid into life.
Despite boasting 85 per cent possession against the Swedes in their group opener, Luis Enrique’s men drew a blank and had to settle for a point.
Alvaro Morata was the biggest sinner in front of goal so I’d be surprised if he kept his place tonight.
Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno came off the bench on Monday and should start in a bid to give Spain more punch up front.
The 29-year-old striker has 32 goals to his name this season so looks good value at 7/5 with BetVictor for anytime scorer.
The Poles kicked off their campaign with a dismal 2-1 loss to Slovakia, although they played most of the second half with 10 men.
Boss Paulo Sousa isn’t renowned for parking the bus and Spain could get some joy against a dodgy Polish defence.
That makes over 2.5 goals a good option at a best 20/23 with Betfair while a goal in each half pays 8/11 at William Hill.
