It’s Lanzarote Hurdle Day at Kempton Park on Saturday with an excellent card supporting the feature handicap contest.
The Grade 2 Silviniaco Conti Chase is wide open with only four runners as champion trainer Paul Nicholls looks to win it for the third year running.
They race at Kempton from 12.20pm-3.50pm and you can watch every race via live streaming when logged into MansionBet alongside all the UK and Irish racing on a busy afternoon. Our tipster has selection for all seven races at Kempton.
12.20 – Play Coral ‘Racing-Super-Series’ For Free Juvenile Hurdle (2m)
The standard is set by Glide Down for Alan King on the strength of his Market Rasen runner-up effort six weeks ago, though that form has taken a few knocks since. Gary Moore’s juveniles demand maximum attention and his string are in fine fettle recently so DIRHAM EMIRATI could be the way to go. He was lightly-raced on the Flat but useful, and could take well to this code.
Selection: Dirham Emirati @ 7/4
12.55 – Watch Racing Free Online At Coral Novices’ Hurdle (3m½f)
Ree Okka powered home at Chepstow six weeks ago for the Harry Fry team, moving clear after the final flight having looked under pressure at stages in that long home straight. He may improve again upped in trip but so, too, should MILAN BRIDGE for champion trainer Paul Nicholls. His Lingfield win over 2m3½f in November was much-improved on first start for the Ditcheat chief and he should have more to give.
Selection: Milan Bridge @ 2/1
1.32 – Coral ‘Fail-To-Finish’ Free Bets Handicap Chase (2m4½f)
Both Falco Blitz and Fanzio are capable on their day but perhaps not completely reliable, while Champagne Court has got his confidence back this season by going over hurdles and now must show he can take that form over these larger obstacles. Therefore KAP AUTEUIL, winner of five from his last six over fences and seemingly still with more to give judged on last month’s Fontwell win, may well defy his latest 4lb rise.
Selection: Kap Auteuil @ 4/1
2.05 – Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase (Grade 2, 2m4½f)
Just four runners in this renewal but it’s quite an intriguing puzzle. Defi Du Seuil would have been a shoe-in a couple of seasons ago but has lost his way completely and didn’t show enough spark in November’s comeback to warrant a pick. Mister Fisher has failed to complete in three of his last four starts and so logically Eldorado Allen might be the form pick on his Haldon Gold Cup win this season.
Paul Nicholls understandably has a special place for this race and he might get ROUGE VIF to sparkle here. He was too free on his comeback in Cheltenham’s Shloer Chase in November but might do better now. That was his first start for the yard and first since a wind operation. He strictly must prove his stamina but his hurdles form bodes well and this a good track in that regard.
Selection: Rouge Vif @ 10/3
2.40 – Coral Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle (Listed, 2m5f)
Class-dropper Gelino Bello could have sound claims for Paul Nicholls, while last month’s C&D winner Marie’s Rock is a key player on that form for Nicky Henderson. Both leading trainers have won this race three times since 2008. They are key players in a wide open event, while Earth Lord, Up For Parol and Quinto Do Mar are others for the shortlist.
The selection is GREEN BOOK for Venetia Williams – a trainer in form and seeking to win this race for a third time. The Authorized gelding has won his last two in ready fashion and looks well-treated off 130 here, while rider Ned Fox takes off 10lb. Six of the last eight Lanzarote winners had conditional riders on board and this partnership should be firmly in the mix.
Selection: Green Book @ 7/1
3.15 – Coral Committed To Safer Gambling Handicap Chase (3m)
Caribean Boy didn’t get beyond the first at Doncaster last time and could be a key player if getting around now, though he doesn’t win too often. Smarty Wild and Kitty’s Light are form players but STRICTLYADANCER was a non-stayer in the London National last time having won three on the spin previously. Back at this conventional trip with Ellis Collier taking 7lb off his back, he’s got a light weight to carry here and could rebound.
Selection: Strictlyadancer @ 7/1
3.50 – Coral Proud To Support British Racing Handicap Hurdle (2m)
Hat-trick seeker Earth Company isn’t one to write off rising 6lb for last month’s Wincanton win but ROYAUME UNI is preferred. Gary Moore’s charge very well at Plumpton in October and ran a pleasing race at Cheltenham in December in competitive company, suggesting a mark of this ilk is within his reach.
Selection: Royaume Uni @ 10/3
