5.15 – Unibet Thanks The Frontline Workers Fillies’ Handicap (1m)
A competitive contest to launch the evening at Kempton and one in which the likes of Taawfan, Nehall, Maurimo and Ice Eagle all have scope to improve and get in the mix. Sir Michael Stoute’s LEHWAIYLA also fits that bill after opening her account at the third time of asking in a firm-ground Bath maiden in late July. A mark of 73 doesn’t look too harsh for this first foray into handicapping.
Tip: Lehwaiyla @ 17/2
5.50 – Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (1m)
It’s not hard to like the chances of Act Of Wisdom and Great King on paper, any strong market support for either newcomer would look ominous. Royal runner ENCOURAGE posted a good first effort at Newbury (soft) last month and the winner is being touted for a Listed contest at Haydock tomorrow. Roger Charlton’s Iffraaj colt is likely to improve and shouldn’t be far away.
Tip: Encourage @ 3/1
6.20 – British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (7f)
John Gosden’s regally-bred MEGALLAN had no problems making a winning start at Newmarket last month on turf and even a 7lb penalty might not be enough to stop this Derby-entered son of Kingman from doubling up. First-timers Secret Protector and Ertikaaz are probably heading the dangers.
Tip: Megallan @ 8/15
6.50 – Longines Irish Champions Weekend EBF ‘Confined’ Fillies’ Novice Stakes (7f)
Having found only a Frankel newcomer in Behold too strong on second run at Newbury recently, WHISKEY ‘N’ CHIPS is likely to be holding leading claims now switched to the all-weather for trainer Clive Cox. He battled all the way to the line and a replication may be good enough, especially if breaking as alertly as last time. Penalised Ripon winner Hilarity and Sir Michael Stoute’s €180,000 debutante Eastern Delight are feared.
Tip: Whiskey ‘N’ Chips @ 11/4
7.20 – Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Handicap (2m)
It’s hard to knock the consistency of PIANISSIMO, a C&D winner with two runner-up finishes also on his CV from three Kempton starts. One of those runs was in July from his current mark and after trying his luck over hurdles since at Uttoxeter he seems sure to give his running again back here. Dance To Paris has finished second twice on turf lately and can be involved back on an artificial surface.
Tip: Pianissimo @ 11/2
7.50 – Try Our New Price Boosts At Unibet Handicap Division 1 (6f)
KINGSHOLM made short work of his first assignment in handicap company when scoring at Wolverhampton last month. He could be called the winner early in the home straight and a 7lb rise for that success shouldn’t prevent the follow up. Former course winner Newyorkstateofmind is one that should go well at a price with more workability in it.
Tip: Kingsholm @ 11/10
8.20 – Try Our New Price Boosts At Unibet Handicap Division 2 (6f)
LITTLE RED SOCKS was having only her second start in a handicap when finishing third (beaten 1¼-lengths) over this distance at Wolverhampton in early July. Karl Burke’s filly has undergone a wind operation since that run and almost certainly should be capable of better things. The champion jockey, Oisin Murphy, is booked today and she looks overpriced.
Tip: Little Red Socks @ 18/1
8.50 – Unibet Casino Deposit 10 Get 40 Bonus Handicap (1m4f)
Frankly Mr Shankly took his form up a notch when getting his first win at the sixth attempt on his all-weather bow at Chelmsford (1m2f) eight days ago. He’s penalised to the tune of 6lb but has clear scope for better and could improve again upped in distance. At the prices, a chance is taken with CAPLA CRUSADER who won over C&D in October off the back of 319 days off on debut for this trainer and is rated 5lb lower now returned from a break with Hollie Doyle a positive booking and the yard in good form.
Tip: Capla Crusader @ 14/1
