00NATION are the 29th-ranked team in the world, entering IEM Cologne as the lowest-ranked team at the event. However, no one should be underestimating 00NATION, as they have talent all over this roster – most notably with Marcelo “coldzera” David and Epitacio “TACO” de Malo, who boast a combined four Major wins over their lengthy careers. 00NATION had to go through the IEM Cologne play-in to make the main event, and they qualified by beating their Brazilian counterparts Imperial 2-0 in a best-of-three series. If 00NATION turn up and play the same way that they did in the play-in tournament, they will give FaZe Clan some headaches.

FURIA achieved their best result for 2022 when they finished 3rd-4th at IEM Dallas in early June. This all-Brazilian roster has definitely stamped its mark as the best in South America, having been ranked inside the top 10 in the world for the last three months consecutively. FURIA have won the last two encounters over Astralis, winning 2-1 in ESL Pro League S15 and also 2-0 at IEM Katowice back in February. With those results, FURIA will be heading into this best-of-three with a great deal of confidence.
Astralis head into IEM Cologne as one of the most talked-about rosters at the event. This roster has shown glimpses of what it could achieve over the past few months, but the results have not matched that promise. However, Astralis finished second in the Pinnacle Cup Championship and in 3rd-4th place at the Roobet Cup, showing signs that they may be starting to put things together now. The 12th-ranked team in the world had to qualify through the IEM Cologne play-in tournament, defeating BIG 2-1 in very tight contest to secure a spot in the main draw. If Astralis can continue this upward spiral into IEM Cologne, they have the talent to go deep.
