I’M leaving the bright lights of the internationals and sticking with the Northern Lights of Iceland’s 1 Deild!
HAUKAR VS. NJARDVÍK (8.15pm)
It’s sh*t or bust time for a few teams at the bottom of the 4th tier and these two are right in the thick of it with just a handful.of games left to save their hides.
Normally, games would tend to tighten up under such pressure but experience has taught me that Icelandic sides usually opt for the alternative ‘arrgghhhh – let’s go f*cking mental’ footballing approach and that’s fine by me.
Theere’s a fairly hefty H2H record between both sides with scorelines of 1-5, 1-2, 1-2, 3-1, 4-3, 1-3, 2-1, 2-2, 2-2, 1-2, 1-2, 3-2 stretched out over a lengthy spell – but it’s damn consistent with 100% of games going over 2.5 with both sides netting and just over 60% seeing over 3.5 and both scoring!
