TONIGHT’S card is either an embarrassment of riches or, if it goes tits up, it’s the old adage of too much choice!
Either way, there’s plenty to go at and I’ve picked out three bets; a rare and risky ‘unders’ bet from The Icelandic Ladies, a tasty looking encounter from The National League North and a bonkers goals longshot from all over the place!
ÍA WOMEN VS. ÍR WOMEN
(8.15pm):
On average, I probably pick ‘ unders’ bets once or twice a year, I’m not a fan and I hate following a game NOT wanting goals to go in!
But, just every now and again, there is a game that I think may just offer up value when the bookies think goals are more expected than I do – this one fits the same criteria and, although I can see why goals are priced up as they are, I don’t necessarily think it’s a definite.
Basically, IR’s ladies are having a bit of a rick; bottom after 12 with just one point and a g/d of -53, life aint great for these Icelandic goddesses – they have been hit by some big defeats BUT key to this pick is that those scorelines were all by the top sides.
Tonight’s opposition IA sit third bottom and are in pretty dire form themselves; without a win in 8, they are hardly banging them in and one of the most notable statistics I pulled out is that not a single one of their last 11 home matches saw more than 4 goals!
H2H-wise, only one of the most recent 7 meetings saw 4 or more with the rest seeing 4-3-1-2-3-3; all in all, yes, I can see why the bookies are primed for a goal blitz, but there is enough evidence to suggest neither side have the firepower to produce an avalanche of goals.
Recommended bet:
- Under 5 goals
- (11/10, bet365) NAP

WREXHAM VS. HALIFAX TOWN (7.45pm):
Wrexham have looked pretty strong as I suggested they might before the opening day, they have invested in their striking prowess and it has shown but they have let themselves down by falling on their own sword in both of their last two where they have conceded late on to turn two wins into a loss and a draw.
Tonight’s visit by Halifax will be a real test, the Yorkshire side having won all 3 of their opening games to sit top of the NL after 3 games and will provide a guaranteed challenge as they head over the Welsh border.
One of Wrexham’s strengths comes in the form of young Cardiff loanee Mark Harris who has scored in both of the last two games and could be lethal at this level.
It could well be a close call this one with both sides set to compete at the top of the table, I can see at least 3 goals with both sides scoring at a decent price.
Recommended bets:
- Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals
- (6/4, bet365) NB
- Mark Harris to score anytime
- (11/4, bet365)
