3:40 – Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes – Onassis
Onassis (12/1
) was the heroine of the hour last year when giving me a second Sandringham Stakes for Charlie Fellowes. She was planning on retiring to the breeding sheds at the end of the 2020 season, but fortunately she remained in training for another season. She arrives here in excellent form and Charlie is delighted with her. I hope there is plenty of pace around. She won on this ground in France last year so I have no doubt she will handle it. We know she likes the straight course and I am very hopeful of her running a big race. It would mean the world if she could back up last year’s win!
5:00 Royal Hunt Cup – Revich
Revich (50/1
) has been pretty consistent for Richard Spencer without getting his head in front. Richard’s horses are running well and I rode a winner for him earlier this week at Nottingham. He has got cheek pieces on him for the first time which could certainly bring out some further improvement and to be fair, it will need to as he has a bit to find on form. He is definitely capable though and the expected fast pace will play to her strengths. We are drawn in 16 which isn’t too bad but I’d have preferred to have been a bit higher, we saw yesterday that the place to be looks to be on the stands’ side.
6:10 – Kensington Palace Stakes – Miss Mulligan
They should go pretty fast here which will suit Miss Mulligan (40/1
) who has proven stamina having run over further this season. George is happy with her and I’ll be looking to settle her early before making my move in the straight. It’s a very open race with plenty of unexposed types but I’m looking forward to riding her.
Good luck to everyone this week and I’ll be back tomorrow!
Stay safe,
Hayley!
