I’m heading down to Bath tomorrow for one exciting ride for Godolphin before returning to Lingfield on Saturday evening for three rides.
Friday: Bath
3:35pm – 1m 2f – MOMENT OF BEAUTY
MOMENT OF BEAUTY (2/1*
) is my only ride at Bath tomorrow. She is a three-year-old filly who didn’t run at two. She made her racecourse debut at Wetherby in a 1m 2f Fillies Novice Stakes where she finished a creditable fifth. The front pair were a good distance clear, but the form has worked out really well. Noon Star, who won, is an impeccably bred Juddmonte filly who is a leading contender in this year’s Oaks and has since come out and won. The second was sent off favourite for the Lingfield Oaks Trial and despite being beaten, ran with a certain amount of credit. On form, we should have every chance here.
Saturday: Lingfield
5:55pm – 1m 4f Handicap – GIFT OF KINGS
Tom Clover is a trainer who is doing very well and he had a nice winner at Wolverhampton on Thursday. GIFT OF KINGS’ only run on the all-weather resulted in a win so a return to that surface should play to his strengths. He’s off 1lb lower than the weight he won at Newcastle last season so if Tom has him in that sort of form, he should have a chance of returning to the winners’ enclosure.
7:25 – 7-furlong Handicap – IN THE RED
IN THE RED is a hardy and consistent performer. He has been placed on a few of his recent starts this year. He’s been given a bit of a break by his trainer Martin Smith to freshen him up. It looks a pretty open and competitive race but seven furlongs suits him.
7:55 – 7-furlong Maiden – BERKSHIRE MIELE
BERKSHIRE MIELE only made one start as a two-year-old where he finished third here at Lingfield over 5-furlongs. He was pretty green that day and shaped as if the extra distance would suit him. He has wintered well and if building on that debut run will have a good chance of breaking his maiden tag at the second time of asking.
Stay safe,
Hayley!
