Wednesday nights at Harlow are really establishing themselves again. A great running surface brings in plenty of outside runners with some decent hounds on show on the card.
No Moaning When Sabbath Wins
It’s always nice to see a race over eight bends on a card. Moaning Sabbath found 592m too short for her when making her Harlow debut last week and will enjoy the 769m that will be on offer tonight at 20.03.
She acts well on a sharp track, her best form so far for Darren Whitton coming at Crayford. A Kent St Leger and Cesarewitch finalist at that track last year, a repeat of those runs would set a strong standard for her opponents.
Whitton to Double up With Duchess
Crystal Duchess was behind Ashville Blondie when they met in the heats last week but Whitton’s charge can exact her revenge in the 592m final at 20.43.
That was her first look at the track, running right off at the second bend when looking lost and forfeiting a number of lengths in the process. She should improve for that now and can reverse the placings when it matters.
Emms to Make Up for Last Week
It was the first try over 592m last week for Jumeirah Emms who cost herself completely with a slow start. She has never been the most consistent of trappers but is a decent type when she times it right.
She had been in decent form over 415m at this track, the swap to the other side of the track probably didn’t help. The 19.24 is 592m again and having come out of those traps last week, she can time things right this time for Clarence Allen.
Piper to Have Them Dancing to Her Tune
Dave Lee has a nice type in his kennels who runs in the 19.07, Endova Piper. She has taken to Crayford well since arriving from Ireland, winning there last time at the main expense of the Kent Rose Bowl winner.
That form sets a very strong level for a maiden 415m contest here around another sharp four bends. She does not quite stay further but did beat a Brighton Belle finalist in a Perry Barr trial last year so she has plenty of speed.
Red to Prove Lucky for Reynolds
The red jacket can see Luck Box Blue score for Jim Reynolds at 19.44. She won on her most recent start at Central Park, getting off the mark for these connections having come over from Ireland.
She has kept some decent company since arriving, making the second round of the Oaks back in October. She led that smart field until the final bend over 480m, this 415m trip should be ideal for her.
